Looking to purchase a new Reciever and I need some help!
another option is a restored vintage piece. Sansui, Marantz, Luxman, Acuphase to name a few good vintage brands. do some research you may find this is a good way to get a bigger bang for your buck.
Next step: preamp or phono preamp
if your looking at both why not get a good preamp with a good phono stage built in. many out there. I'd go tube pre if it was me but we all have different sound tastes.
Matching Speakers to amp
you have more then enough power for either speaker. both are relatively efficient 90db, 91.5db. both seem to have similar specs but both dip to 3ohm load or slightly below but you have more then enough power for this load. so go for it see what so...

EL34 in triode vs 300B/845 SET
one more thing to consider is tube replacement cost 300b's are rather expensive compared to most other tube types. descent ones are $150 each and up lets not even talk about NOS 300b's
Tonearm comparison, Rega vs Zeta, anyone?
if you still have the acrylic arm board go buy an aluminum one from oracle they are a huge step up and look way better too. and reasonably priced, get a service kit while your at it if it has not been done already.
Looking for opinions on components for a vintage tube system and 90's solid state
I picked up the table from an original local owner and it was in very good original condition so other then a quick clean and lube it was perfect. I had a local craftsman build the plinth for me, there are pictures of it in my profile, not hard an...
Emerald physics Amps 100.2 SE Question
no ,too much power is generally not a bad thing unless your trying to play to a stadium. generally distortion like clipping is what blows speaker drivers not too much power. just be careful as your speakers are very efficient so you will probably ...
Repair Linn turntable vs buying a different one

Tonearm comparison, Rega vs Zeta, anyone?
