SACD/CD Drive Mechanism Replacement
Any reputable tech can install a drive not that hard. having a spare is only a thing if you know there are not many available. Like an older out of production drive. If parts are plentiful why bother.  mind you if your sanity is an issue worrying...
I know this an old topic...but Tonearm for Garrard 301 :)
Oh looks like your arm board is predrilled for the SME type base. Also looks very nice, and lots of room for the arm/arm wire etc. Should be a great sounding table. Not sure about a tonearm that is not connected tt the plinth, one bump and your d...
I know this an old topic...but Tonearm for Garrard 301 :)
After building a Garrard 301 set up, i.e. plinth, rebuild of table, tone arm, etc. I'd say take your time and look for a reputable arm that fits many modern carts compliance. Personally I'd stay away from vintage arms if your going to run modern ...
How to best connect sub on $250 total stereo system?
If the single sub has both right and left RCA inputs they are probably merged internally anyway. so just plug the sub out into either and see what works.
I want to buy new speakers for 50,000 and see it used for 30,000, what should I do?
If the product is available on the used market you'd be a fool for not looking at least.
Is It Worh Modding An Amp
I put TKD volume pot and AudioNote Copper caps in an older Cary Audio SLP94 preamp and it was a nice upgrade over stock. I think as others have said it really depends on what your looking for but yes changing a few key components can change the s...
Mcintosh MAC7200 or Hegel H390 for a new pair of Kef R7 META
The mac with the tuner and DAC would be a nice optioned receiver and the DAC2 optional board is definitely something to consider its quite good for the money. Both are excellent amps but i think you get more for the money from the MAC, not to ment...
Accuphase P-4600 100V to 120V
why don't you get a 120 to 100v step down transformer? just get one large enough for the power draw, usually shown on the back close to the power plug. I'd aim for twice the rating but generally a 1000w step down transformer should be sufficient. ...
Replacing My Maggie 3.6R
Sounds like you should move/try an open baffle type of speaker to get what your missing. OB's will have all the similar things you like in the Magi's but will add richness, dynamics, slam and tone. Also be much more efficient.
Cornwall IV vs. Volti Rival, Razz; Razz v. 1, 2, 3 -- what changed?
Not sure how efficient your looking for but i have done the Klipsch LaScala thing for years and was happy after some modifications i.e. damping of horns, upgrading the crossovers and drivers etc.  The one speaker that gets overlooked here mostly ...
How to Open the Sonus Faber Olympica IIIs (Please Help)
check if access is from the back, but my thinking is there is a trim ring around the driver mounting area that will need to come off to expose the driver mounting screws.  probably a trim ring around the outer edge of the driver.
Where Do I Go from Here?
I would not spend that kind of money on any audio component if I was in my mid 70's unless money was not an issue. One hearing is not as good, Two no new money coming in, Three do you really need an upgrade or are you just wanting a change? 20 ...
Relaxed/Analog sounding DAC for under $10k (used or new)
For well under your budget you can get a Chord Dave used. One of the best DAC's I've had and regret selling. Lot of options in your price range so take your time listen to as many as you can. I'm eyeing the new LTA Tube DAC right now.
You're not a true audiophile unless...
to me an audiophile is someone who looks to improve the sound of their audio playback. Its about the love of music and making it sound better, even if that's just adjusting your speakers on your desk top to make them image better, that's an audiop...
matching pre for Dynaco mk4 monoblocks
Tubes4hifi may have parts. I dumped mine after spending more than they were worth trying to get them reliable and noise free. I’ll never buy another dynaco amp.
