Cryogenic Treatment of Tubes, and why you should not.
regardless if you hear a difference. To me its not worth the potential damage to the tube or its longevity. these tube are getting expensive and NOS tubes are ridiculous now so anything that could shorten the life of a tube is something to conside...
Local pickup for speakers - should I let the buyer in the house or use the the garage?
After you have talked to them on the phone and they seem ok, then look at what they drive up to your house in. if it’s an old beater, they look like they just got out of jail and they are buying thousands of dollars’ worth of gear maybe run,  if t...
Shanling ET3 or Project CD RS2-T CD transport comparison
The big question is what actual CD drive are they using? You may find it’s the same one wrapped in a different case. There are not many companies making CD drives anymore.
Class of operation for Tube Power Amps
Not always will the number of output tubes dictate if it’s class A or A/B there are a few parallel class A amps with more than one output tube per channel. I know a couple of parallel class A SET’s for example. I think doing a quick search on th...
Hooking up a NAD 3020 v2 to a PC
you can buy a USB to Optical interface. googles your friend. that will also remove much of the noise from the pc.
How old is too old?
The largest issue is parts availability. as the drives and optical sensors age they will die and need replacement. If parts are available no issue. but as many have learned parts are not really that available for disk drives, especially older ones...
Suggestions for cartridges for Rega P8
I also used an MC1 (silver body low output) for decades even had it rebuilt twice but eventually it was time to replace it. After a few different carts I ended up on a Sumiko Pear wood celebration 2, Newer version now. It has most of the detail an...

looking at your other speakers i would suggest you look closely at ProAc's their small speakers are legendary. Look great as well.
KT88 Tube Recommendation - Mac MC275
If its a gen 6 they have JJ tubes from the factory, not the best sounding tube IMO. Lots of options, maybe not at your budget though. Tube store has Gnelax kt88's for a decent price right now. You can also run 6550's if your inclined. with K-horn...
🤯 Legacy Audio Calibre XD humming + no low ends & boxy sounding
Are the pins for the XLR wired correctly for the speakers? some equipment has a diferent wiring of the pins.
A controversial takes on low cost speakers with a lesson...
No wonder young people don't like audiophiles, just read through the posts on this. I haven't even watched the video and can tell you are all so removed from the people just starting in the hobby.  If you don't find anything of value in the vid...
Mcintosh MQ112
If using an EQ makes your listening more enjoyable then use one. But i would try something less expencive to try, like the Schiit Audio EQ's they are clean enough and work well to let you know if an EQ is something for you. And wont cost more then...
Hafler Series Trans Nova 9505 vs Yamaha M80 Power Amps
The yamaha, better built, probably hold its value longer, if not increase. Granted i've never been a fan of any halfler's just to dry, unmusical sounding for my tastes. also been years since i heard either.
Phasemation Cartridge Compliance or Alignment Issue?
From my experience the woofer pulsing is a feedback issue. have you added a subwoofer or moved the table closer to a corner of the room or the speaker? It could be set up if your cart is a lighter one on a heavy tone arm for example but from a qui...
