Bananas rule, spades drool. End of discussion.
@audphile1  Chuckle.. yeah, I have not had a spade come loose on a Pass amp… oh, I think it is those enormous hand cranks they have on them. I really appreciate those… 👍 Pass.

I don’t think the generality is intended to be anywhere that specific, it’s more a question of are you fishing in the right hole. That said, yes, that makes sense. Then there is the big question of do these have the right tonal balance / synergy w...
How does bi-wiring work?
@tomic601  Yes. I think I was in my kick drum stage… when I thought that a concussive kick drum was the mark of a good system. But the AMTs had a really smooth and beautiful midrange… which is why I bought them.
Speakers for weird sized room.....
@soix Brings up a good point. They are well regarded and about the same price new. This would be a set up for a sideways move. Trading one set of strengths for a different set and one tonal balance for another.    Given any room, you experiment t...
Ultimate $10K home office system for vinyl?
Well, my office system ended up being Totem Mite speakers with a matching subwoofer (all three beautiful wood). A PrimaLuna integrated amp… mine is all digital… because getting interrupted every twenty minutes in not condusive for work… you want t...

Yes. You are correct about spades loosening up. But looking at bananas I could never get behind them because I just couldn’t imagine the Banana having as much contact area as spades. They look really convenient to me.   Oh, there is a game today...

Decoupling, isolation…turntables, speakers…spikes, isolation bases what works?
Well, rather like all things audio, it depends. But in general the more sophisticated purpose built the better.   Spikes or integral audio feet < good than vibrapods / pucks < inexpensive springs < Townsend feet < Townsend Podiums fo...

Value of a preamp?

Cable upgrades
James, Sure. The rule of thumb is 10% the total of a component or system. It is not hard and fast. Because while wires have general characteristics and overall with additional cost they sound better… generally lower noise floor, greater dynamics ...
question of soundstage
Yep, lots of factors.
A phono preamp with equalization selector
@cleeds Yes, my bad. 👍   @lewm    Yes, you are correct the LP was introduced in 1948.
Best cable placement
I think the logic is what is lost up front is lost forever and that the signal tends to be stronger downstream so is less prone to loss.
Clock vs Streamer advice
Often, the reaction to new software is negative. It is different from what you were using and it is very counter intuitive. The Conductor app is widely praised, while not the be-all or end-all… very good. As you get used to it, it becomes easy to ...
