Power Cables <$500 for Digital Sources
@mikhailark I think I took my first class in TCP/IP in the late 90s? I’ve been in IT for thirty five years and been in charge of global networks for decades. Best to listen and not theorize.
All around headphone amp recommendations
A headphone system can be simply breathtaking. Happily I finally found that out. Unfortunately, your requirements for size and price preclude me recommending the stuff I have. But, you might want to have a look at my system and consider this kind ...
Is the idea of audiophile listening a dying concept as boomers die off?
This question has been coming up for decades with lots of reasons that it is a dying pursuit, but the number of products continues to proliferate. I remember watching in awe as old guys came in and carted off the most recent Audio Research compone...
Power Cables <$500 for Digital Sources
@mikhailark    May I suggest you spend some time with a quality audio system and get experience with high quality streamers, and power cords. What you are claiming is very logical but utter wrong in the real world.
What was the most expensive record that you ever bought ?
@macg19 ”…Latest tally that decision ended up costing us around $100K.”   Great story, you are a certified audiophile. 😂
Starting Over and I need your help
Good sounding audio typically takes effort. Research and careful choices. However, the good thing is that you have a system to start with. Typically most of us all really start there… then you carefully choose one component to replace after anothe...
Does it have to sound good for you to like it?
OP, I know what you mean. I was just comparing several different recordings of Shostakovich’s 5th symphony. Poor quality recording gets dismissed immediately, there are quite a few of those. But I was in a real quandary between two, one more rece...
Watts! How many do we need?
Hi @atmasphere, Thanks for your comment, but I am pretty sure I understand current and how it relates to solid state amplifiers performance characteristics. Sorry, but the article you refer to is so poorly written as to escape making any sense to...
Free Tip for Jumpers
@sandrodg73  Thanks for recounting your experiment. A couple thoughts. You did two things at once. It would be interesting to leave the original factory jumpers and only wire diagonally. See what that does.   It sounds like the aftermarket jump...
Power Cables <$500 for Digital Sources
I would look for used, typically available for half the original price. Pay attention to their purpose / construction. High current models are for amps… highly isolated noise reduction are for components. It is best to try before you buy. I would...
New wireless hub/router
The new router should have at least four Ethernet ports on it in addition to adding WiFi capability. So provided the new router is located in the same location, no change, you will just now have WiFi all over the house. In general, high quality s...
Quandary
Sounds like you got a lot of experience for your experiment. The conclusion that comes to my mind is that a major factor in your enjoyment is detail… that is what Benchmark is about… hence a really good choice for you. The Pass and especially  CJ ...
Sonus Faber Question
OP,   Thanks for your kind words.
Aurender A200 vs N200
You have a great plan… highly recommended. I also have a great analog rig and tried over the last nearly thirty years to get my digital end to near the same sound quality. Until about five years ago it really was not possible at any cost. It is no...
Repeater/extenders are evil!
It is interesting the improvement you experienced. Congratulations. I think it depends on the streamer, system, and the difficulty in wiring. I guess you’ll find out more when you get your new streamer.
