Best way to clean glossy finish on speakers?
Use a swifter and never touch it. Almost any cloth will have dust embedded in it and will cause micro scratches… dulling the finish. If you had accidentally touched it, then use a brand new / perfectly clean fluffy micro fiber closet with a small ...

Just a different perspective on Zerostat. I have owned several over the decades… especially when I used to live in Tucson and static was a really big problem. They have never done a bit of good. I desperately wanted them to, I bought the newest… p...
Speaker and Cable Suggestions Please
Congradulations on your new amp. Great choice. High quality audio systems can make up for reduced hearing. I think mostly by revealing the whole spectrum of sound in the music. If you miss a bit of the real high frequency, it just isn’t that obvi...
Product: Sonus Faber Concertino Domus Bookshelf Speakers; w/ Stands
Lots of times with the interim inflation you will spend about the same price 20 years later on speakers. I would enjoy them. I think that is fair price in todays market.
DAC Question: Delta-Sigma vs R2R
@mdrone  I don’t find thinness an attribute of any particular design, but of the overall quality (and typically expense) of the unit. A really good designer will carefully select all the components as well as the design so as to optimize the soun...
Re-wiring the listening room: Questions
@gregdude Sorry, maybe I am not writing clearly. What I am suggesting is three separate circuits from the same circuit box (I did not mention this… just in case you have two), each with a separate breaker … . The important point is they are goin...
Product: Sonus Faber Concertino Domus Bookshelf Speakers; w/ Stands
I believe $1,000 speakers and $200 stands. In 2004. So says Bard.
Re-wiring the listening room: Questions
@gregdude Not true. Ground loops are created by plugging in to two different circuits with different shared outlets… creating a differential in resistance. There is a trickle of current between the two,  When you have dedicated lines that does n...
Upgrading My Vinyl Set Up
On Nordost. I agree with @macg19 on lower tier not being great. However, my experience is that upper tier are great… not over priced.
Upgrading My Vinyl Set Up
@dogberry  The source is in the components. It depends where you are. If you are doing a complete system upgrade then after the speakers you could argue the source… but I would do preamp, amp, then sources. Getting the character of your system… t...

@mijostyn  Yes, Amazons packaging can be really bad. My return rate is probably over 25%… with Music Direct I returned one about five years ago… so, like 1 or 2 percent. Their packaging is made for vinyl and they will slit the plastic to prevent ...
Re-wiring the listening room: Questions
@lak  +1   Yes, you want a direct line at 12 for the amp(s)… and at least one for the rest at 9. Two at 9 will certainly not hurt. The incremental cost should be very small  for the third.
Upgrading My Vinyl Set Up
The speakers you are planning for should be a huge upgrade.    Since they are from the same company, they presumably have the same sound… but they are likely to be much more resolving and dynamic. So, may sound better with different cables.  ‘In...

OP,, I had a Phillips 212 in the mid 70’s. I don’t know where it got a reputation for being a good turntable. It was so bad compared to all my future turntables. I’m older than that. My first turntable was inside a beautiful, dark, hard wood tub...
Help me select few vinyl LPs
OP,   That is a very good list.
