Phase inverting problem
True or False? The absolute polarity of about 50% of all home audio systems is the reverse of the other 50%.
Phase inverting problem
Half of all media are phase incorrect anyway, so you will still have a signal out of the speakers that's incorrect in phase (polarity) half the time whether the system is phase/polarity correct. There is no standard for polarity in media.Cheers
Anyone use CD tweaks
One of my favs is three 1 inch strips of black plastic tape on the label side arranged like spokes of a wheel.
Coupling or de-coupling stand mounted ls3/5a
I suspended my LS3/5As from the ceiling once. I suspect the speakers like to be allowed to breath, including placement well away from walls, and be at the proper height. Everything else requires careful experimentation.
Led Zeppelen and Dire Straits Japanese SHM CD's
Matjet - The Mothership CD illustrates that Jimmy Page knows what Zeppelin is supposed to sound like and knows how to obtain it on CD. Of course people have their own opinions on these matters, that's what makes the world go 'round. And the origin...
Led Zeppelen and Dire Straits Japanese SHM CD's
If any version can beat the Page-remastered Zeppelin Mothership CD that came out a couple years back I'd be extremely surprised. The DVD that came with it is strictly unbelieveable.
Song covers that are better than the originals
The Ramones' cover of the Stones' classic, Out of Time.
Anyone use CD tweaks
The last time I looked the Radio Shack Bulk Tape Eraser had been discontinued. That was some time ago. Fortunately, eBay is a good resource for the item.
Do Blue Dots applied to LP labels improve sound?
Stanwal - We find it saves on house calls. Like the blue dots, the tele tweak operates on the principle of mind-matter interaction. No more Mr. Nice Guy.

Cryo'ed LP's
Highendman, the only things I can think of are (1) the proper ramp down, dwell and ramp up timing protocol for LPs was not employed in your case for some reason, perhaps an error or (2) the LPs were exposed to excessive heat somehwere along the li...
Cryo'ed LP's
Yes, I was serious about the home freezer and, yes, I realize the temperatures are not as low as cryo temps.
Cryo'ed LP's
That's odd, Highendman. There are quite a few cryogenics labs specializing in audio items - including LPs - such as Cryogenics International and Enduro Cryogenics. One suspects that if properly controlled cryo treatment of LPs produces warped LPs ...
Cryo'ed LP's
Ouch! Very ouch!
