Looking for a DAC w/ balanced XLR line out, budget $1k
Unfortunately, balanced line out players don't come cheap.I recommend an Aurender A10- way above your budget, but after getting a N100 after my Bluesound Node, I can honestly say it is superior.Bob
Integrated tube amp with usb dac advice please
I would rather purchase the DAC separately from the preamp.Considering how DAC technology is moving, buying an All-in-One, means you are stuck with possibly outdated tech-unless the manufacturer offers upgrades.Bob

A used Ayre Codex or a Schiit Gungnir Multibit. The former might be a bit more, but I have seen a few just under $1k. The Gungnir should be under $1K.To be honest, the Codex is the better of the two.Bob

Building an AUDIOPHILE friendly PC from scratch so what is a must to consider in 2020?
At the very least, I would incorporate a program like Fidelizer with a Windows system.A person to contact would be Sam Laufer of Laufer Teknik. He makes The Memory Player, and Mini. He also offers software that aids in digital sound reproduction.La...
Anyone else never get tired of Billie Holiday?
I should add that the Verve set I mentioned has a lot of outtakes and studio ramblings. Some might find it annoying, but hearing Billie sing 'My Yiddishe Mama' to her child was pretty neat.Of course, if you don't want to buy that set, you can defi...
