Used McIntosh Amp or better new options out there? - Amplifier or Integrated @OP,Getting discounts from a dealer means building a relationship with him/her-and, buying enough equipment to make it worth the while.-As far as class A goes, they can drive anything within their power range, just like any other amplifier. Used McIntosh Amp or better new options out there? - Amplifier or Integrated @OP,I would recommend getting your speakers first, then choosing the remaining components. I just bought inexpensive Zu cables and called it a day. Then I listened to the new AQ cables-speaker, interconnect and power- and became a believer in what cables can do to a system.Unfortunately, they ...

XLR connectors Well, I just bought a set of AQ Yukon's at the recommendation of my dealer Audioconnection.I haven't connected them yet, but when John recommends something, it always works out for the better.Bob
How do I pay? Unless I could listen to the speakers in person, I wouldn't consider sending a cashier's check to somebody prior to having the speakers in my possession. And, $4K isn't something that would warrant such demands. From my days of buying/selling watch...
Audio quest rocket 88 vs audio quest castle rocks @tomstruck,The newer AQ cables smoke the Rocket's and Castle Rock's, albeit at a steeper price tag.Which is why I suggest the OP contact Johnny. In-wall ethernet cable for streamer I would recommend a shielded cable- at the very least.I have seen Supra cat8 well reviewed, but have no first hand information. You can buy it on Ebay for a 'reasonable' price.https://www.ebay.com/itm/153783903352?ul_noapp=trueBob

Are there any bookshelf speakers that sound good on a bookshelf? +3 on the Vandy VLR's.I own a pair, and have them near the corners of my ceiling (like monitors). When I disconnected my subs, I was very surprised by how much bass they could produce. If you aren't super into high fidelity, or have a less than perf...
smaller speakers for critical listening? I hate to be the 'stuck record', but a pair of Vandy VLR's with a Sub3 or two, and some AQ William Tell's will deliver you some of the most engaging music you've heard, at a very reasonable price point.I suggest you give them a demo.Bob |
