Anybody have both Herbie's Cone/Spike Pucks and isoacoustics gaia's
@nyaudio98 ,Gee, thanks for posting.NOT.If you can't answer a question without snarkiness, perhaps you should keep it to yourself. There many posters who don't have the knowledge that members, such as yourself, have.@OP, Using granite underneath s...
Belles Aria Integrated burn in time
Burn in is one of those strange things that is hard to put a finger on.For me, I just turn on the stereo and listen like I always do.After a number of hours, I realize something changed-usually for the better.Hardly scientific, but it seems to hav...
Hi-res streaming on Qobuz
@OP, Any Bluesound Node will perform equally after upgrades.I asked BS about this, and they confirmed it.So, you can save some coin by getting an earlier iteration.I still use the original Node-though the last major upgrade had to be re-upgraded, ...
I really wanted to dislike D'Agostino
I always like your posts. This one is nice, as it shows an open mind. It can be easy to fall into a negative rut, so I say 'Bravo'.Bob

Hi-res streaming on Qobuz
@ OP,Hey Richard,I use an Ayre Codex and Bluesound Node for streaming. The Ayre shows the output on it's display. I can definitely hear a difference between 44 and 96.Perhaps you can get a Bluesound Node instead of the Arcam. Though Bluesound supp...
Wanting to get back into the hobby and want to start with the speakers.
The Adcom amps are solid- Nelson Pass helped design them.I had them for decades. They still worked when I sold them 30 years later. As far as speakers go, I think you need to set aside some time and visit as many dealers as possible. That way, you ...
Your thoughts about an upgrade
@OP,Congrats on a great system/choice!Break in is one of those things that varies, at least to me. Some things require a couple hundred hours to settle in, others more.As for the Vandy's, I would suspect at least 200 hours. More would be better, i...
SS vs. Tubes with Vandersteen 2ce sig II
@OP,Hmm, your experience mimics mine- though I am using Atma Sphere.I really like the Atma sound, but I have to say when I switch to Ayre, things seem to be a bit more punchy and tighter.I have no intention of dropping tubes. In fact, I use them f...
Length of speaker cables
@lolroyy4,Uneven speaker cables are generally considered a no-no, especially when using them at long runs. There might be issues with capacitance, as well as cable artifacts. Perhaps eric squires will chime in?Bob
Reasonably Priced Bookshelf Speakers
@OP, Look for the most recent vintage of Vandy's.Mr. V. continually adds improvements to his speakers, even if he hasn't labeled them so.In this case, the Vandy VLR wood. There is a pair for sale on Canuck Audio Mart.- And, well priced, too.B
Router extender.
I use the Orbi system, mostly because Verizon touts it.It seems to work well, even allowing me to add wireless to a property across the street from me.B
Reasonably Priced Bookshelf Speakers
The Vandy VLR's would fit your needs perfectly. Designed for bookshelf placement-in fact, placing them near corners is perfect. They can sound unbelievable when given the right equipment.I have a pair for my office. The Treo's are in my main liste...
Has anyone compared old to new Audioquest Cables???
@mammothguy54,Great post!Your experience mimics mine. The new cables/conditioners Garth Powell is releasing are undoubtedly the best AQ has made. There will be doubters, but, those of us who have heard the difference, know better.Bob
