Problems with Bluesound Vault and PC app finding Node2 that are wireless @mahler, Wow, that sounds bad. My interactions with Bluesound have been stellar, especially considering I bought my Nodes second hand.I know there are 2 techs, one is named Maya. I'll try to see if I can get her to look at your problem.Bob
Audioquest custom made triple weave design power cable (Storm Series). @janehamble ,I bought some IEC right angle adaptors from AQ, and a rather expensive one from Voodoo Cable-It can be rotated, but they will set it up to the direction you want. Nice to know that if I change things, it can be readjusted with a few s...
System Cable Upgrade Recommendation @bfjones, Though I can understand a company has rules on returns, I really get upset when they do not provide some leeway when it comes to returns and warranty.Hearing this, I would steer clear of Silnote. One of the reasons I like AQ is that they ...
Older or Modern amp for older Speakers (NHT 3.3) Even that old Adcom can be had for a song. I just recently sold mine, and it still worked like a charm. The Hafler and McCormack seems like it would be a good pairing. At least, to me.B
Vandersteen VLR CT I wish he would offer the CT upgrade for my Treo's.@cedargrove,I need to let Johnny look at my AX-7e, I will try to see if he can set the two speakers up for a demo.B
Problems with Bluesound Vault and PC app finding Node2 that are wireless I have been having issues with my Bluesound App/Nodes for a few months.Today, Bluesound emailed me and said they replicated the issue and hope to issue an upgrade soon.I have to say, they have been very patient and vigilant in trying to correct th...
DC Offset Blocker/Killer - where to buy in the USA @OP,I would find another electrician. From what you have described, I would be wary of what the original electrician did-especially with his nasty attitude, and concerned that this setup is according to code. Perhaps the whole problem with the Mac...
Audioquest custom made triple weave design power cable (Storm Series). @janehamble ,+1My Tornado's really opened up. Bass is significantly better defined. My recommendation to anyone buying them is to buy a longer length than needed so that you can have some wiggle room. The right angle connectors really help. Opinions on Dacs... Schiit would be my choice. And, if possible a used Gungnir, you can have it converted to Multibit later. It's much better than the Bifrost (which I owned before the Gungy).Bob
Older or Modern amp for older Speakers (NHT 3.3) I owned the 3.3's long ago. Very nice speaker for the money.I was using an Adcom GFA 555 and PS Audio 4.6.I think going the McCormack route would be a great way to power them. The best part is that they can be upgraded by SMcAudio. In fact, if you ...
Vandersteen VLR CT My regular VLR's sound pretty amazing for their small size. I'm sure the CT version is worth the money if you want a small package and need super sound. If I get to Audioconnection, I'll see if Johnny can set up a demo of the two.B
Shorter speaker runs or shorter IC Runs...Which is the better set up and why? @mzk,The OP stated he is using XLR cables. Length will have no impact on sound. Longer speaker wire (unless talking >50ft) only effect wattage loss and lower damping factor, which can be negated by using a thicker gauge. I disagree totally. ...
Saving the sound of the Stradivarius It's just wood, joinery and glue. With time, even wood will degrade. And, when factoring the stress of playing it, I have no doubt it will eventually not withstand the forces of time. What I would do is create replicas based on highly defined compu...
Can one use 2 sets of monoblock amplifiers to one stereo set of speakers? I thought Sound Lab speakers to be one of easier to drive electrostatic speakers. If that is the case, I can't think of why you'd want to use two sets of monoblocks, as I don't think it would yield a significant improvement in sound reproduction.J...
