Why are speaker stands so expensive?!
There are many highly respected speaker manufacturers who absolutely do not recommend heavy metal stands or metal stands at all. Borresen makes their own stands out of mdf, unfortunately they are not available separately and if they were, the cost...
Revisiting Chinese Knockoff Cables
These knock-offs are cheap enough to take apart and carefully examine, preferably under microscope or magnifier. They are not high quality smooth copper with premium insulation. Just try and see! The uneven texture of the conductors can be seen in...
Cleaning audio components with 90% isopropyl alcohol
Acetone dries even faster but you should use it only if there are no plastic parts involved.
Sat front row at the symphony...
Front row may not be the “best” place to sit, but in some halls it is the most impressive place for unforgettable experiences. That applies to i.e. Philharmonie in Berlin.
Borresen X3 at Axpona
You never ever pay the full price for anything designed by Michael B.
What is the most challenging music to play on a stereo?
Wagner absolutely. For example the last ten minutes of Siegfried.

If people listened to acoustic music, especially vocal music (I don’t mean Diana Krall either) in demonstrations and it sounded good and natural, few things could go wrong afterwards. But no, they listens to the “impressive thunder” in Brothers in...
Rhodium plated audio grade wall socket
Rhodium is very hard. Scratches are a real problem with any connector. Just grab a magnifying glass and see yourself!
How do you find time to enjoy your $$$ speakers and system?
Living in Europe has its benefits.
Building stands for Harbeth 40.2's
Beech is excellent for speaker stands and that’s what Tonträger mainly uses.
Why do we stop listening to new music as we get older?
I listen to classical music, also called art music. The older I get, the more I’m interested in contemporary art music and less in Mozart, Brahms etc. I find the repeats in 18th c music especially tedious. But I would call myself a connoisseur, wh...
Speakers for a unique small room
ATC Scm7 which are better than the small Harbeths, but need high stands, like the Harbeths.
Quobuz subscription
I’d say Qobuz is oriented towards classical music which sounds as good as any original copy of cd or high-Rez download. The catalogue is really extensive, practically missing only Hyperion.

Schit Audio Marketing Department: Can We Give them a Hand?
Let’s not forget that only English speaking (mostly American) people giggle at Schiit. For others, it’s just one of the hundreds of brands using Norse mythology names nowadays.
