Ohm Walsh Talls and amplification
Excellent! Used, the PS Audio and Bel Canto both seem like bargains overall. Even new, neither one is a bad deal by any stretch! Have fun and enjoy the trip!
Ohm Walsh Talls and amplification
Interesting Bond, glad you found something that fits you better. I have been wondering how the PS Audio Stellar class D amps would fare on the Ohms. I have not heard them, seem to get good comments though, and the price on them is very reasonable ...
Seeking input on Larsen speakers
One other speaker that gets a miss and is still available, the Direct Acoustics Silent Speaker. The looks may not be great, but the price to fun factor is in the extreme here. I owned a pair for a few years. These can be placed very close to the wa...
Ohm Walsh Talls and amplification
For starters, use cubic feet and Ohms chart for the correct speaker, so if your ceilings are 8’, then your measurement is going to be 2824, which puts you right at the upper edge of the 2000. Sometimes with overlapping numbers, you can chose based...
Seeking input on Larsen speakers
Well, they are really crap, cheap drivers, terrible build, look and sound bad. That is what one shopkeep told me to my face. Strange I thought, I have had a pair of Model 4’s for over five years! Guess I was listening to crap all that time!Serious...
Best realistic omni type speaker option?
Yes, the GamuT integrated would have been superb I think! The Obs certainly like the current a good amplifier can deliver, providing it sounds good, of course! I am sure you will manage! Enjoy!
Best realistic omni type speaker option?
br-Not to hijack this thread with talks on the Obelisk, I am doubtful you are getting any where near the capability that the Obs can give with the little Pear amp, but I could be wrong. Yes, it will drive the Obs and play music, but they are quite...
Best realistic omni type speaker option?
br3098-I would mirror your comments on the Shahinian Obelisk. That was one of the fantastic traits of them to my ears, the layering of music, a real depth, they had an uncanny way of making a vocalist or instruments have real 3-dimensional body. N...
Types of speakers to create nightclub style sound?
Bag End as noted above is a great suggestion, their gear is robust, and will give what you require. I have no idea on their pricing these days though....Regardless, there are many ways to skin the cat. Have fun!
Best realistic omni type speaker option?
Duevel is very possible to get in the US, just not a demo. I can vouch for Pascal Ravach of Mutine in Canada, the North American distributor. I purchased Venus last May, love them. As to other Omni types I have owned, various Ohms, very good, Lars...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Indeed! I have always liked the older “F” cabinets redone like yours with upgraded drivers. They just look right to me. Classic, timeless to me!
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Map, I have always loved your 5000’s, they look fantastic, and I am sure likewise on the sound!
What would be involved in updating Hersey II’s to Hersey IV’s?
If you get them at a reasonable price, I say live with them as is. Then after time goes by, see if you are really missing out on anything. Nothing wrong with enjoying something as is! Have fun!
Is anyone thinking about building Walsh drivers?
Jerry, there are no failures, just continued improvement! Keep rolling on!
This year at RMAF: ....and now for something completely.....Affordable
Thanks Map, I did read that wrap up, hopefully there will also be more folks commenting on them in due time. I was glad that at least the Ohms were there and got some play time. Nice to see that, especially at its price point-and really, not even ...
