Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em? Map, I have always loved your 5000’s, they look fantastic, and I am sure likewise on the sound!
What would be involved in updating Hersey II’s to Hersey IV’s? If you get them at a reasonable price, I say live with them as is. Then after time goes by, see if you are really missing out on anything. Nothing wrong with enjoying something as is! Have fun!
Is anyone thinking about building Walsh drivers? Jerry, there are no failures, just continued improvement! Keep rolling on!
This year at RMAF: ....and now for something completely.....Affordable Thanks Map, I did read that wrap up, hopefully there will also be more folks commenting on them in due time. I was glad that at least the Ohms were there and got some play time. Nice to see that, especially at its price point-and really, not even ...
Interconnects and Speaker Cable, What in your history hit your pleasure button? @axeis1, interestingly, Audience cabling was one of the groups I listened to/experimented with sometime ago. It was not their current series though. While it is excellent cable, it just didn’t do anything to my ears that my current DH Labs cable w...
This year at RMAF: ....and now for something completely.....Affordable I can’t say that I love Z, but would have liked to have been there to hear the setups in his room, most notably, the Ohm 3000’s. Nice to see them at RMAF, and hopefully it will bring Ohm some business, as well as make some music lovers happy!
Interconnects and Speaker Cable, What in your history hit your pleasure button? I have been predominately using DH Labs cabling for almost 20 years now. Silver coated copper cabling for what it is worth. It has just seemed right to my ears in most of the systems that I have had set up over the years-including my current one. ...
Is anyone thinking about building Walsh drivers? Hi Jerry, still watching you...mind the crickets chirping...Hope all is well with you! Heretic? Nah, keep the faith! Omni's rule.
Your favorite Small Apartment Speakers Larsens, Ohm Walsh MWT/1000, Davone Mojo-yeah, I tend to like Omni's...and many of the above mentioned speakers are great too. All depends on the owner/listener's values.
Ohm "Tall "speakers: Overall 2000 responses on a thread from 2008 Your reply helps SJ! Helps to put things in perspective overall I think. I can say that in my opinion, I think the Larsen is probably a bit better overall than the Ohm MWT, mainly a bit more meat on the bones in the lower end, and a fuller, more r...
Ohm "Tall "speakers: Overall 2000 responses on a thread from 2008 SJ-I really do not know what an "Audiophile" speaker is, I have my thoughts on maybe what you are asking, but I will leave that one alone.I have owned both the Ohm MWT and the Larsen Model 4.2, I responded to your Larsen thread awhile back. I thin...
Larsen speakers: 4.2 or 6.2??. Has anyone heard or own them?? Thanks for the update S.J., glad you took the time to listen to the Larsen, regardless of if you end up with a pair or not. Most wouldn’t have even bothered, so good for you! Hopefully you will find what you are listening for!
Maggie Fans Chime in: Need recommendation for amp to drive Maggies (MMGs and 1.7i) Yes, I get it, especially when you can find really good, not very old units out there for reasonable money. I even drove my MMG's with Anthem PVA series for awhile, but I wasn't in a huge room driving them to crazy levels either. I do think the An...
Larsen speakers: 4.2 or 6.2??. Has anyone heard or own them?? If I had to say, my opinion in an average sized room would be 50 wpc minimum. I think that the Larsen do like a bit of power to them. I played around with my Model 4 powered by a Plinius 8200 integrated for awhile, and while a lot of the power ava...
Maggie Fans Chime in: Need recommendation for amp to drive Maggies (MMGs and 1.7i) Van Alstine or even ATI amps can be had used at decent prices. I would even say that if you liked how your Anthem sounded, they too can be had fairly cheaply, MCA series or others. Is your current Anthem too old to bother with repairs? Have fun, a... |
