Do I need higher quality power cords?
@rvpiano ime the power cord from the wall to the conditioner is actually the least important PC in any system -- provided you get a good base level top let the conditioner do its job then you will get more impact from the PCs to the components. Th...
Looking for a Giant Killer Digital cable
@audioengr I have no reason to disagree with you that S/PDIF cannot perform well if properly implemented -- but my comment related to consumer implementations with RCA or TOS termination, not a true 75ohm BNC -- if we assume you cannot get a true ...
Stand Alone Super Tweeter for Revel F208?
@honashagen have you considered that the room may be the issue? Treating the room with for example a set of SR HFTs may give you not only control of the room but also an ability to tune the high frequencies to suit your taste. For example in my ro...

@blindjim thanks for the good summary of your experienceThrough 30 years experience in digital my realization has been that while cables do make a big difference the initial and dominant factor is choice of interface itself. S/PDIF is about the wo...
Stand Alone Super Tweeter for Revel F208?
Triangle would be one of the candidates, but other instruments have even more energy above 20KHz -- this is a very interesting article on the subjecthttps://www.cco.caltech.edu/~boyk/spectra/spectra.htm
Stand Alone Super Tweeter for Revel F208?
Townshend is a good choice, as is the Enigmacoustics SopraninoI do however have to note that a super tweeter should not add "sparkle" to your speaker. If you can hear the effect of a ST as sparkle you probably have the cross over set too low or th...
AUDIO PRICE INSANITY PRICE VS. PERFORMANCE WORTH IT?
@amg56 the room can only be sorted once you are happy with your systemI suspect this is just about 100% the wrong way to approach things. Every system will interact with the room but changing the system to address room interactions, rather than ad...

@blindjim --sorry the link I provided didn't work --  here it is in ugly formathttps://blackcatcable.com/products/c-silverstar-75-mk2-spdifChris’ original cable with Black Cat (and one to look for used) was the Velocehttp://www.6moons.com/audiorev...
Looking for a Giant Killer Digital cable
Chris Somoviggo makes some of the best and best value true 75ohm cables there are -- his current entry level SilverStar is $222 but you could look for one of his products used (although I don't see any of the entry level currently out there)
1/4 Inch Spade to 5/16 Inch Spade
This should work. Plug the banana into your MC152 and attach the spade to that.https://www.takefiveaudio.com/contents/21-spadetobananaadapter
Magico A3
@audiolabyrinth - the way to think of a SuperTweeter is that it is to tweeters as a SubWoofer is to Woofers i.e. it complements and extends rather than replaces. The Sopranino, like the Townshend and the recently introduced KIT HIT (https://www.mo...
Magico A3
@audiolabyrinth no, I simply added the Enigmacoustics Sopranino supertweeter. This is a pretty common add on for Q series Magicos and complements them nicelyyou can read about my experience herehttps://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/supertweeters-...
Esoteric PO3 Transport XLR Output
I used to like DVD-A as well, but lacking a suitable transport sold off all my discs (at quite high prices) last yearPersonally with the dCS stack I actually upsample 16/44.1 to DSDx2 -- to my mind that combination works best with the filters avai...
Esoteric PO3 Transport XLR Output
Agreed @georgehifi provided you can live with 16/44.1 you are set. My personal experience with my dCS stack is that dual AES/EBU is the way to go if you can manage it -- much superior to the prior best connection dCS offered which was via FireWire...
Esoteric PO3 Transport XLR Output
FWIW dCS offer a similar connection methodology -- dues AES/EBU (one for each channel) that can carry PCM or DSD. It’s a proprietary format and only compatible with other dCS DACs. However you can use a single AES/EBU to carry both channels instea...
