110v vintage receiver to 230v US to France step up transformer
I'm guessing you have other components that you'll be taking that will also run off of 120vac? You will need to determine the total wattage of all equipment before purchasing a transformer. You may want to have multiple transformers, but that will...
Stacking gear no more rack space does it affect sound quality
Well at least you know what MTBF is. Does that mean if you operate something below its designed temperature span, it will NOT last longer? I have seen a lot of poor engineering in my day, one common one is REL's R8 failure in several of their subw...

greg_f - Have you ever done failure analysis? I was a Failure Analysis Engr. and worked in screen rooms... Duh!
Will a digital transport burn my Dac
Like I said, likely nothing wrong with the DAC. To be honest, I've NEVER had a problem with an amplifier do to excess voltage from a preamp. I've been at this for 50 years. vinylzone said maybe a lightning strike, I concur.
Will a digital transport burn my Dac
Digital coaxial output is specified at 0.6 volts, with an input voltage of 0.2 volts. It's not likely that the Zen caused a problem with the dac. Most likely the problem was or is in the source material to the Zen.
100 watts enough?
I love lots of power, I have 4.7kW in my living room. But for your condo application, I think 100W/channel is fine. If your planning to move into a house or a bigger place then investing in more power might be useful.

Heat kills over time, not right away.
Paradigm or JL subwoofer
You should consider some used JL's. E110's would probably be enough, but the F112's can be had for less than $2k each. Even F113's for less than $5k a pair. E112's for less than $3k a pair. Happy hunting...
Paradigm or JL subwoofer
For me it's JL all the way, sounds better and goes deeper. Also look at the resale value of Paradigm, not good. You can do your own reduction of the low frequencies from your main speakers if you want. You will feel the JL's!
Anybody Listen Voxativ?
I haven't auditioned any yet, but intend on doing that soon.

I agree with rodman EMI/RFI and ebm. I do have a couple items stacked, but not more than 2 high for sure. Heat is a problem for electronics reliability, try to keep them cool.
Why phase reverse switch only works when cold?
That unit uses many relays in various circuits, they become unreliable after a period of time. Most failures usually occur when the unit is hot. If you have knowledge of electronic service, you might be able to locate the bad relay or component wi...

Two defective pieces in a row - unreasonable to demand refund?
Digital Mac's don't hold value. Sure get a 3rd, you must be looking for punishment.
