For a quick good time, blankets... Hey @tomcarr no problem at all. I don't know about Prima. I found GIK and their prices and effectiveness so reasonable I'm a devoted fanboy. ASC is also very good, but pricey....GIK also is really super helpful for the novice. Upload pics, diagram...
Audiogon's entitlements I never thought this was user specific, but a bug in the code. Sometimes you can and sometimes you can't. :) It seems rather random.
For a quick good time, blankets... Sonex barely works except as shipping material. Products from GIK Acoustics and ASC however are beautiful marvels.I think sheep are cute and sometimes funny, but it is pretty surprising to me the apparently deliberate campaign to prevent listeners...
Mystery of the Disappearing Frequency So very sorry! So the usual fix is to reverse the speaker/listening position while you find a better place. That is, a speaker at your listening chair, and move the mic around until the holes fill out. Best,E
Mystery of the Disappearing Frequency I think your problem in part may be your measurements. Are you using a steady state signal? Try Room EQ Wizard or OmniMic instead. Next, if this is real, you'll need bass traps. Tube traps are good, but ASC is pricey, GIK Acoustics Soffit Traps ar...
For a quick good time, blankets... Hi Tom! Well, you went far and above the point I was trying to make, but I think $6 is well within the spirit of nearly-free tweaks. :) I'm so glad you found it worthwhile! Best,E
Am I the only one to opt-out on the Sopra 2's? I would kill for a picture of the Sopra's crossover. If they did the same trickery as they did int he Profiles, this is fixable.
Am I the only one to opt-out on the Sopra 2's? Focal likes to de-tune their speakers with < 4 Ohm impedances in the critical bass slam region, around 70-150 Hz. The only real fix is a really beefy amp. If you ever take a look inside, I'd love a pic of their crossover.
For a quick good time, blankets... Of course. Comprehensive acoustic treatment and help from pro's like GIK Acoustics is a good thing. My posting was more about encouraging experimentation. :) I have found sometimes that adding floor absorption even with wall to wall carpeting may ...
Boulder monoblock 2150 Art, music, literature, all quite related and important in any education worthy of the name.
For a quick good time, blankets... Well, I'm not necessarily suggesting a permanent installation, but I forget sometimes how much you can learn about your system without spending any money. Trying out pillows and blankets or throw rugs can be revealing for no cost. :) Best,E
Conrad Johnson Classic noisy channel. Wait, swapping tubes works? Why don't you just swap across sets?? :) Keep the good one and swap out the noisy one. Am I missing something?
Conrad Johnson Classic noisy channel. The PV10 has a single power supply though, not sure about the classic. The odd part is that it's only happening on one channel. Later PV models had split power supplies per channel.
High End Ethernet Cables ....Real Deal or Snake Oil Snake oil.
Subwoofers.....Leave On/Off? Lots of subs have "auto-on" but almost all are class D. They don't draw very much power when idling. If you are concerned, I suggest a home watt meter. You plug them in between your sub and the socket and they show you how much power is being used... |
