Conjunction Junction – how will this function??? I run things through my TV first, and then optical out from there.
Power conditioners and wall warts When I had more room, I used a Furman with separate filter sections. That kept any wall wart noise 2 filters away from audio devices, while everything was protected. I don’t have that kind of room, so I use a smaller Furman and a separate conditio...
Speaker recommendation If you like GE, try Dali.
Does this image give you claustrophobia? Maybe the 32 inch TV is just the menu screen for streaming service??? Might be.Hahahaha. But it seems there are 3 speakers wrapped around it. Seriously hope this was the distributor's home. I'm reminded of a story I read, perhaps here, about a g...
Feedback in solid state amp The general concensus is that feedback lowers distortionwhich should mean the sound is better, Not just distortion but also improves output impedance. Meaning the amplifier is less controlled by the speaker. but based on listening, no overall fe...
Power conditioners and wall warts I like to put wall warts outside of the audio power conditioners.
Speakers for.....every type of music? Monitor Audio top shelf speakers are extremely neutral and well built. To the casual listener they are too laid back, until you spend time with them and they do everything very well.

Horns: Why don't they image well? Erik’s thread is entitled, "Why don’t horns image well?", and the entire text of his opening post is, "Anyone have a theory?".In asking for theories, it seemed like Erik was inviting "tech details" as well as how they "relate to actual perceived...
Reminiscing about Dual and AR turntables @lewm By "easier to buy" i really meant easier to own. I can buy them and leave them alone instead of buying and modding or fiddling with them. :) Best,E
Horns: Why don't they image well? To give an example of this, there's time coincident speakers like old Thiel and current Vandersteen. Despite the technical claims made for them, the overall design has not overwhelmed the speaker industry. Lots of fun to talk about, and an interes...
Horns: Why don't they image well? I guess my main gripe comes with questioning the usefulness, in some instances at least, of knowing about minutiae design "tech details" and how these are convertible into or relate to actual perceived sound. The designer/developer him- or herself...
Power conditioner or outlet? @ghosthouse They do, which is why I specified SMP and LiFT as being the important features for me. I use an older model, Elite 15i something something, although sometimes I supplement it with a voltage regulator. |
