Accuphase Vs Parasound I am a big fan of Parasound, and the amp is a great starting point. I think you'd be pleasantly surprised. The P6 however is not all that either as a pre or DAC. The P7 is a much better Pre, and the Parasound integrated has a better DAC. Best,E
Would someone please explain how 'gain' functions? Gain is a voltage multiplier from input to output. -6 dB gain = output half of input0 dB gain = No change. 6 dB gain = output twice input. Gain is expressed in voltage decibels (dB) which directly translate to SPL dB. So if you used a sound level ...
Speakers for a very large room? I was not familiar with JBL Studio Monitors until you gave your strong recommendation for them. I am sure they sound just fantastic in your set up.OP: I think there is a misunderstanding. 1 - It was not a "strong recommendation." It was a sugges...
Speakers for a very large room? Start with GIK acoustics. they give great advice, and have the best price / performance. That will make your room match wiht a much wider range of speakers than you would otherwise. Have you thought about some JBL studio monitors?
Hypex N core module All Class-D’s today have the same problem. The switching frequency is too low to be filtered out effectively completely with the Class-D’s output filter, without effecting the upper mids and highs. A statement George loves to repeat without pract...
Affordable Processor with Fabulous 2 Channel ? Clark calls regular asynchronous USB interfaces ’non optimal’ because the ground noise that is inevitable with computer sources pollutes the clock and the DAC in the receiver. Except that it is completely preventable with standard isolation t...
Affordable Processor with Fabulous 2 Channel ? er, I shoudl have clarified : "I now own a DAC with a very good clock which behaves about the same whether from USB or S/PDIF. It also makes Redbook sound much better than my previous DAC.
Affordable Processor with Fabulous 2 Channel ? aux:I've had a DAC which behaved much better via USB than other inputs. I now own a DAC that behaves similarly. I think it's very much about implementation of the jitter and re-clocking interfaces as a whole. The DAC which behaved much better via ...
Up grade speaker cross over This is probably best over at DIYaudio.com, but ...We need more info. What speaker, what tweeter, what caps are in the crossover now?
84k speakers... Big disappointment Yes, B&O has horrible taste in speaker design in cars and headphones but ...Their ICEPower amps and the Scanspeak drivers that make up the components of the B&O are top notch. I really can't take the Beolab seriously as a speaker, but as a...
More expensive DAC the answer? Have you talked to GIK Acoustics? They give great advice and have awesome products.
Help with DIY dedicated circuit Not sure if it was suggested, but you could run 12/3 and have 2 separate 20 amp outlets. :) Get an electrician to do it. If it were me, I’d use 15 amp breakers with spark detectors. You don’t need 20, and 15 will be safer. There’s no audible diffe...
Can you live with your current speaker until you die? Absolutely. With the caveat that subs may come and go. :) Built them myself. $1,800 in parts that I wouldn't see in any speaker less than $12khttps://speakermakersjourney.blogspot.com/2017/12/snr-1-two-way-high-end-diy-monitor.htmlBut it's not the...
Does this image give you claustrophobia? What I don't get is buying all that and then forcing the left speaker into a corner. It seems like the goal was to show off the McIntosh gear. It all in all feels off.Too small of a TV. 3 speakers around the TV AND the main L and R speakers ... fr...
Does this image give you claustrophobia? The seller didn't ask anyone's advice or opinion. Maybe it would be better to keep your opinion to yourself. You are entirely new to the internet I take it? |
