DSPeaker Anti-Mode 2.0 issue
Well, if it really IS you then it's probably static. Try taking your shoes off, first. :) But wow, I have never heard of any modern piece of electrical kit that could detect your presence 2 feet away! That's messed up. E
DC Offset Blocker/Killer - where to buy in the USA
I can understand McIntosh not wanting to change their gear based on frequency of events. However you should also get a full refund if it does not perform normally in your home.Best,E
Is there a Northern and Southern California Sound
You know, I don't think this is about where the speakers are made, but I've sensed a trend in dealer preferences. Could be just me. Best,E
Pono was the best SS headphone amp I ever heard
@tpreaves2 I went with a Fiio. Much better UI, size and expandability. But damn, the Pono's handling of headphones was something else. Best,E
Modifying Philharmonic 3 crossovers
How about one type of caps for the tweeter and one type for midrange? I'd recommend all series caps be the same. Because parallel caps are not directly in line, and often much larger and more expensive, that is where you may want to do some cost...
DC Offset Blocker/Killer - where to buy in the USA
Get a multi meter and stick probes one into the neutral the other into the phase and measure for DC mV, and that’s what I did. I am not going to do anything more than what they suggested. That’s pretty smart. :) I never thought of that, as I was w...
Cable recommendation for Krell & Vandersteen
Make your own. Highly recommend the Connex pure silver interconnect, shielded cables from Parts Connexion, along with Neutrik connectors from Parts Express. Best,E
Saint-Sean’s 3rd Symphony
I’m wondering if others have experienced that situation in the majority of recordings of this symphony’s 2nd movement, or do I have to start getting some room treatment.I have no problems with bass in any other recordings. If you are going to...
graphene again
Neat, but it is not anywhere near room temperature! The cool part about the article is how the alignment of two sheets of atom thick carbon change behavior. At fractions of a degree above absolute zero.
The Future of Audio Amplification
Eric you've tried numerous threads to get this Class-D "praising thing" on a roll, never to keep going, because of the "non acceptance" by way too many for you to counter.  Give it up be happy with yours, that you say you can't hear any problem...
Modifying Philharmonic 3 crossovers
Sorry Jonny,In the first schematic of this page:https://speakermakersjourney.blogspot.com/2016/02/crossover-basics.htmlAll components are in series with the drivers. In the second, I added a coil (L2) which is in parallel with the driver. For the ...
Hihat Question
I can hear it ‘all’ when I am close to the speaker. My room may very well be the issue. It’s a very open floor plan. Kitchen, foyer, and dining room adjoin my listening area. I strongly recommend you talk to GIK if you can improve the room acou...
The Future of Audio Amplification
We have achieved a major scientific breakthrough. Audiogon managed to hook this website up to 1982 and found this: Maybe against backyard junkers. It’s not yet, only in the bass.
Thinking about upgrading, but wondering about diminishing returns
If you haven't done room treatment yet, and you are going to spend that kind of money, call GIK and get professional advice. Their advice and gear is superb.
Modifying Philharmonic 3 crossovers
Please look at the sizes and weights though, CMR caps are effing huge and heavy! :) Make sure to plan for that.
