Will a subwoofer add depth and clarity to my system, or just bass?
Umm ... To OPTIMALLY separate the (low bass) subwoofer passband from the (mid-bass) main woofer passband, it's necessary to use a full 4th order (24dB/octave) active Linkwitz-Riley crossover. The electro-acoustical sum is what matters, and it's...
Audio stuff that is impossible to install right (or stay installed right)
I had no issues at all with the Salamander stands, though they do require a lot of turning and turning and turning.... :)
On order, new receiver
I just can't justify more than a 5.1 setup. If you stick to that, everything becomes a lot more straightforward.Best,E
Hate to do this again. Start over. Class d
And so, let another Class D thread degenerate.
Looking for speaker recommendations
Monitor Audio, but not sure if they’ll have the slam you are looking for. Wilson’s are a possible choice as well. Highly recommend GIK Acoustic treatments first. They’ll make any speaker sound it’s best.
Why no Class D integrated love? (from manufacturers)
NAD and Marantz have Hypex in integrateds. :)
Why do some manufacturers reverse preamp polarity in the first place?
That's the beauty of CD's, unlike digital files. If your CD is in reverse polarity, just play it upside down and the 0s become 1s and vice-versa.Those of you who have traded in your CD players for media servers should feel pretty sheepish right ab...
Binding posts tightening physics and drastic change
It could just be that all the turning has cleaned off some contacts somewhere. I do find that the harder the materials used in the binding posts and spades, the worse a connection you get. Tightening them down doesn't seem to help. Softer material...

Did you power amps off?
Need Help with Voltage for Integrated
Changing the fuse value will not change the voltage capability of the unit. No one said otherwise. The issue is that the unit has multiple internal locations for the fuse, depending on wall voltage. Each location probably requires a different am...
Relaxed, musical DAC around 2k used?
Every MQA DAC rolls off the highs for PCM music, so something from Mytek for instance would have less upper treble than a Benchmark DAC3B or Chord Qutest (these have neutral sound). @mzkmxcvWhat?????Figures 7 and 8 of this review say you have no i...
Which Transparent speaker cable to chose?
Lots of fans here fur Duelund. Kind of DIY from Parts Connexion.Nogami Sound Runner is always a great bargain, and good way to start from neutral. But also, consider your room first. GIK Acoustics, Michael Greene Audio, etc., if you are going to s...
Are analog, non-compressed, FM stations a thing of the past?
You know, most good stations are available via Internet Radio and some sound really great. KCSM, KDFC, and Toronto's Jazz FM 91, They may also be a good way to find local stations. Some FM antennas are directional. I had Radio Shack's largest comb...
Need Help with Voltage for Integrated
Make sure you have the correct amperage fuse! The current probably halves or doubles depending on location.
Chinese fake cables How fake, how good?
I have this issue with cables, generally. The price differential rarely relates well to any perceptible changes in sound quality.
