Mytek Brooklyn Bridge Problem
I have always found Mytek's support pretty responsive:https://mytekdigital.com/hifi/support/
Home theater / Music system
The two worst sounding processors I’ve had were Onkyo and Emotiva. The Anthem MRX520 is fully featured, from all accounts here sounds great and you can buy refurbed for a song from the manufacturer’s store on that bidding site. Best,E
Kids during audition - aaaaagh!!
I think the disconnect is the social experience your friends want to have vs. what you want to have. They want to spend time with you, and share the family time with you, which is paramount to them, and you want to have some one to listen to music...

The AQ are crimp ons, I believe.  Make sure you have the right tool. :) Best,E
Power Amp transformer hum - intermittent and increases and decreases in a few seconds
Hi John,If it's mechanical hum, then yes, there are a number of DC eliminators which should work for you. If you live in a single family home, it may help more to try to eliminate the problem via the process of elimination. Turn off all the other ...
Going linear - The Luxman 507ux
Hi @rockrider and @jetterThanks for asking. Unfortunately I tore down my TV/stereo set up completely, and it too longer to put back together. When Lily (the Luxman 507ux) arrived, I put her on a coffee table for the first few days because she would...

Compared to a resistor on a printed circuit board, speaker cables require a lot more flexion. But man, do whatever you want to. It's not really the ideal solution to use solder on these joints.

Forgot one of the important things about solder vs. pressure connections:Solder is brittle. Over time, movement will make it break or become intermittent faster than pressure connections. This is an important reason why solder is not used where tw...

@ketchup There's a difference between line level electronics and speakers. The high current connections are between the amp and drivers, so personally I'd discourage it. Notice there are no solder joints between the power outside your house and th...

@n80 Doh!! I meant a cold weld, but really what I meant was a crimp, or crimp onto sleeves, and screws like WBT and Furutech recommend. Solder is not a very good, high current connection, it should not be used for amp to speakers.

Use a cold solder joint, not actual solder. Here's a great, top end example:https://www.partsconnexion.com/wbt-spade-connectors.htmlbut for core materials copper is really hard to beat. Gold plating over copper is also good, since both are soft, a...
Proac Ribbon Tweeters Damaged
Weird.  DC leakage on the amps won't cause this, because usually the tweets are protected by a capacitor. DC leakage would fry the woofers. So, if you are _sure_ the issue is in the tweets, it's not DC, but it could be high frequency oscillation, ...

also, I find soft connectors work best. Hard, rhodium plated materials have a tough time gripping.

I really love the WBT spring loaded spades. They grip really well. Best,E

If it really is the tweets, did you recently replace your speaker cables?? Sometimes high capacitance can lead to amp oscillation.
