The science of opinion ...
Are they even considered people, or they do not matter? The article didn't say, but I have strong opinions on this matter and will be starting a new thread on the very subject. :)
Crossover Capacitor In Parallel with Woofer
Oh, so the key difference when looking at a crossover between a 2nd order and Zobel tends to be the size of the resistor, and cap. The resistors in a Zobel are in the 4-8 Ohm range. The resistors in even numbered poles is tiny, anywhere from 0.2 t...
Who uses power conditioning?
Furman Elite. I don't notice it until it is gone. No way I'd put my gear straight into the wall, but I come from a state with notorious bad thunderstorms and lightning.  Also, I've never heard the Furman make things worse, only better.
Crossover Capacitor In Parallel with Woofer
Sounds like a Zobel:https://speakermakersjourney.blogspot.com/2016/12/crossover-basics-zobel_8.htmlThe quick answer is it helps the woofer impedance stay flat so the low pass filter works more consistently.
The science of opinion ...
So I’ve discovered a whole new set of related, but not overlapping, topics:The Psychology of Stuff. I got some article about the psychology of watch collecting, and it discussed the idea of identity of the self and what we own. Very interesting to...
Improving tweeter clarity. Felt.
So, as I understand it, if we are talking seriously thick felt, you end up changing the radiation pattern of the tweeter. Some speakers have this deliberately built in, and use several centimeters of felt.Others, like I use, use very thin, maybe 1...
Brave man, McGowan...
I've been thinking about this for a bit. Is PM claiming his power regenerators are not actually the best thing since sliced bread??
Dazed & Confused
Room acoustics. :) I find poor rooms sound much better at low volumes than high.  Room acoustics help the room sound great at all volumes.
Brave man, McGowan...
Thanks for the laugh.  :) Erik
EQ Thats affordable
The Balanced is for XLR connections. The HD is for 96/24 kHz sampling and manipulation.
Sound proofing panels and other equipment - What is the best out there right now
GIK Acoustics are my absolute favorites for having reasonable prices (compared to ASC) and very high performance. Also have some innovative things like Art Panels.
Help choosing HT processor
You could do a Luxman integrated, with any processor you want. I'm thinking of going super cheap on the HT processor side, maybe a Marantz from Accessories For Less. Otherwise I really like the Anthem.
EQ Thats affordable
Between Behringer and miniDSP I recommend the latter. Also, miniDSP has a number of digital-only models that you can put before your DAC.
Pass Labs or Devialet
I agree that the Pass sounds different. In the range, consider also Ayre and Luxman. Between those three you are sure to hear a strong preference.
Improving tweeter clarity. Felt.
I've used this several times, always with a positive result. BTW, you can buy felt punches to cut perfect holes from a craft store, as well as buy pre-made from Madisound.
