Congratulations Atmasphere!
Congratulations! I'm curious though, not being well versed in the entire history of switching amps, what parts are new here? The balanced outputs?
Focal Aria sounds muffled and far away being run on a denon AVR-X3400H
Oh, last thing. Make sure every driver is playing. Put your fingers on every one, lightly, except the tweeter. I’ve had some Focal crossovers break a wire to a big coil in transit. For the tweeter, just put your ear up close.

One thing, if you have room correction, turn it off first. :)

Then it's definitely the amp. :(

First, we need to find out if it is  your speakers or your room. Assuming you have connected them to the correct amp posts, the next thing is, set the speakers about 4 feet apart and put your chair 4' from them. Do they sound a lot better than far...
Eichmann binding post caps broke again/ Suggestions on something better
Mundorf?
Help in minimizing hiss
How are your room acoustics? Especially between and behind the speakers? If not treated, experiment with some blankets. This won't remove hiss, but is an area often neglected which raises the perception around those frequencies. :)
Dreaming of a DIY 8W Class A amp designed by Nelson Pass?
Have fun with it and let us know, @lou_setriodes
BEST HARMLESS/SIGNATURELESS SPEAKERS CAPACITORS.
I’m not reading an encyclopedia to yelp you. 1 - My comment re : electrolytics was to be careful switching from them to film. If your speaker was originally film, then no problem. 2 - I was only discussing speaker caps. 3 - Our interactions have n...
time-aligned speakers: stepped fronts vs. sloping fronts
You are correct, but a lot of tweeters sound better off-axis. It's up to the designer to balance the off-axis response, with the crossover, to yield the best tonal balance. As Graveson has noted, sometimes we design speakers for listening at the tw...
Luxman L-509X
I've heard the 509 right after hearing the D'Agostino Momentum. While not a Momentum, it was not too shabby. Not shabby at all.
Can you put a Krell in an apartment?
In an apartment I'd run a smaller amp with better power conditioning. Looking at the spec, it draws 350 at idle, 3,000 max.The 350 is do-able in an apartment, but it will be a room heater. The maximum power draw at 15 A (the usual, non dedicated c...
Mattresses, not stereos is where the money is
I've been thinking about the question, how is this really about stereo. While of course I meant to have some fun with my friends here, I also think there are some really good parallels: 1 - Ultimately the personal experience is the only thing that...
BEST HARMLESS/SIGNATURELESS SPEAKERS CAPACITORS.
Hey, I have experience with Audyn True Copper as bypass caps only. As I mentioned, I found that with small CMR caps, they did not improve much, but with larger values they are really something! Also very expensive comparatively, about 0.1uF goes f...
Seeking help finding the weak link(s) in my system and offering suggestions please.
I'll vote with eric on his advice, although the DSP would perhaps assist in setting up the traps....but that's just MHO. That's kind of proven. ;) While the average consumer trap is wide-band and therefore has a hard time handling very deep nulls...
