Need help finding good quality spades that accept larger gauges
Parts Connexion. I like the spring loaded WBT spades a great deal, rock solid lock even with hard metal terminals. If you go with a solid, low tech spade, make sure you get a big enough crimp tool to create the right amount of pressure.
There's a lot more bass in a 6.5" driver than most of you think
BTW....I wasn’t aware that Linkwitz had passed away. :( There was a time in my life I lived within a mile of him, and wasn’t aware of it.... Yeah, it was a real shock to me too. The man’s work has been with me since I worked in theater sound in t...
Why you want upsampling and upconversion in a server and why it sounds way better!
I use Roon to upsample my Lumin T2 playback to DSD 512. Well, that's an interesting idea I should try. I've been upsampling PCM to PCM, not to DSD.  So far it wasn't really worth it. Thanks @tuberist for the suggestion.
Help me understand John Coltrane .... seriously.
this is another provocative thread you authored. I enjoy the questions you ask in this manner. They really get you thinking. Also, I enjoy how you adroitly "stay out of it". You are setting up the question and if a debate exists, then, so be it. ...

LOOKING TO UPGRADE FROM BW 805 NAUTILUS TO COMPACT FLOOR STANDERS
or how about the B&W 703s?

The usual progression is to a 2.5 way speaker. More efficiency, and deeper bass.  See what Monitor Audio has for you, but you may find them initially too laid back. Of course, room acoustics matter, as does speaker placement. Best,E
Streamers and bit rot.
All of this needs to be standardized, and then the geniuses can proceed from there. Once the parameters are established, innovation can do it's thing. It has been. USB 1.0 was a standard, as were every other USB standard up till now (with USB ...
Toole and why I like Tone Controls
As I stated earlier in this thread, it’s my experience that good quality class D amps (Currently very noticeably present on my pair of class D DSonic M3-600-M monoblocks), do this naturally with all source content. I use a Levinson 326S ss ...
Why you want upsampling and upconversion in a server and why it sounds way better!
In our tests with many high end dacs the upconverted data nearly always sounds far better than the original. I have not experienced this in a very long time.
Toole and why I like Tone Controls
I have dynamic loudness compensation. The system will follow the appropriate loudness curve depending on the actual volume so no matter what the volume the music sounds exactly the same. Very nice! Reminds me of the Yamaha/Denon loudness dial...

Thanks @asvjerry To be clear I am not AGAINST the use of multiple subs to solve a problem. I am against religious advocacy of any particular methodology. EQs, room treatment and multiple subs are all useful choices. I am reminded of a textbook I r...

Bi-amping is just one possibility. :)
Should I replace capacitors in an old but working amp?
Absolutely. You have a 30 year amp, and it's' time. But, modern caps last longer, and if you get higher temp variants they last even longer. So go ahead and replace them and you'll be good for 20 more. The one downside is that you won't recoup thi...

I really like the DH Labs solid core silver from Parts Connextion. It IS brittle however, so make sure you leave slack at the connectors.
