You can't have too many bass traps...
Nope. It does take considerable amount of bass traps to improve an enclosed space. If you are unwilling/unable to use EQ you'll need more to get a perfect room, but yes, you can over-dampen not just the bass, but the mid/treble as well. 4 of the G...
What is the best solid state amplifier you have ever heard?
D'Agostino, Ayre and Luxman. The Luxman and D'Agostino were very close. Ayre is a different animal altogether, and, oddly, sounds a lot like Arcam.
A challenge to the "measurement" camp
The major failings of the ASR camp are :1 - The idea that an oscilloscope is a judge of my listening preferences. 2 - The idea that measuring first does not generate observation bias. In fact, it creates it. 3 - The idea that measurements mostly d...
You didn't hear it here.

Luxman 590axii vs Pass Labs int 60
You really should listen for yourself. The three brands I repeatedly suggest people compare and contrast are:AyrePass LuxmanMostly because I think if you do this you'll have such a strong opinion no one else's will matter.  They sound significantl...
Amp recommendation to drive Thiel 3.6 speakers

UK to NorthAmerica plug adapters for powered monitors with adjustable voltage?

Installing Mono Switch or Button On Conrad Johnson PV12?
Do mono recordings use the same RIAA curve??
Should I leave an Old Krell FPB 400 cx on all the time?
Stand by is fine, but if it's over 20 years old you'll want to have it recapped.
Putting weights on speakers?
I use the same tweeters by the way, and those are phenomenal. :)  It's interesting the woofer is crossed as high as it is.  1 kHz... Hmmmmmmm...
Putting weights on speakers?
I have to say I'm surprised that helps at all.  Those cabinets being that heavy and the woofer being low to the ground (relatively) I would not think that was an issue.  I'm curious, when they play, can you feel vibration from the top of the woofe...
Pioneer Direct Drives - Now and then?
I've read about the Pioneer bearing issue, and that it's been cleaned up since they first came out.
Pioneer Direct Drives - Now and then?
Why thank you @markmay - That's' very kind.  For a variety of reasons, right now I can't actually accept a turntable in my home... it will be a few months, but I appreciate the offer.  I asked a little tongue in cheek. :) I want to get into vinyl,...
