Magico A5 vs SF Amati vs Raidho D3 - Help me decide!
I think these may all be wrong.  A Klipsch or JBL or Dynaudio might be much more to your liking.
Measurements for a dedicated line
@carlsbad2 Honestly haven't kept up with them that closely.  I remember there was an original generation that was essentially using linear amplifiers, then they switched to Class D. At the same time the founder of Jensen Transformers (really nice...
Measurements for a dedicated line
@carlsbad2  - The one thing about the Class D power plants is that they do in fact output quite a bit of noise.  Personally I prefer to use an old-school voltage regulator.
Measurements for a dedicated line
@dpop The N-E measurement is the same as the H-N, just volts. You can do the same with any multimeter. The ground wire normally has zero current, and remains at 0 V. The neutral though carries the same current as the hot. It’s that current that cr...
Measurements for a dedicated line
Let me rephrase, assuming your circuit has 0 amps, N-E voltage should be the same as at your panel, because 0 current = 0 volts dropped across your circuit. So to be thorough, make sure your starting point is good.  if it isn't, you need an elect...
Finally...subwoofer that's aesthetically pleasing!
I really don't know why more audiophiles haven't gushed over the SF Stradivari.  Really amazing speakers that ignored the room they were in, much like the Snell type As.
Measurements for a dedicated line
@dpopov2272 Usually the cause is a bad connection upstream from you on the neutral circuit. Of course, having long runs/thin gauges contribute, but if yo find this number much higher it’s usually a bad upstream connection. This can also happen if...
Subwoofer speed is in the room, not the box
Anyone that has used a sub without a highpass is doing it wrong   I don’t think it’s IMPOSSIBLE.... but very difficult to do this by ear or based on published specs or measurements. You must figure out what your main speaker is doing in room. ...
To Focal or not to Focal
Focals tend to be hard on amplifiers, delivering sub-par bass unless your amp is pretty stiff.  They also have a unique sound and off-axis presentation which has a lot of fans, but also means you should not go there without listening. Also, room ...
Berkeley Audio Design and MQA?
PS - The only discernible difference I have heard from MQA was the forced use of an apodizing digital filter.  Personally prefer others, but if I think about the sound quality, I think most of what I'm hearing is the filter choice. As I've said be...
Easy Come Easy Go…….BOOM!
@eisen0169 That is, of course, excellent advice. The problem I have here is that half the time lightning rolls in I’m either in bed or away and not expecting it. Not to mention the times when power goes out for reasons that have nothing to do with...
Berkeley Audio Design and MQA?
Don't they release 1 dac every 10 years?? 🤣
WiFi Satellite Causing Phono Stage Interference
I'm giving you a lot of different ideas based on different possible causes. The most likely cause is probably proximity of a radio source to the turntable and interconnect cables.  The next is RF pickup in the phono stage itself, and lastly a pow...
WiFi Satellite Causing Phono Stage Interference
Hey OP, If you put a noise source on the "clean side" of a power conditioner you can dirty the power you just cleaned up. Of course, this depends on a lot of things, including whether or not there are multiple filter banks or not. Regardless of ...

Actually, replace the wall wart no matter what. :)
