Can you touch the tubes? Maybe power tubes no big deal. Maybe it's the signal radar tubes that pick up modem a radio wave interference that shouldn't be touched. I had a tube on a preamp that was very sensitive to network equipment.
Is Aurender N10 still a good option I use a lumin x1 streamer/dac using roon. Got a separate power supply which is ideal. I find this outstanding. The dac inclusion is done extremely well don't have to worry about all the external BS wiring interconnects. And the temptation to swit...
Bowers & Wilkins 801D4 Signature Can you recommend a home in Switzerland for my summer holidays? Would love to see a picture of your System and your place in Brazil? What amplifiers do you use for your speakers. I have the MC 901 monos here I like the B&w 802 d3 which I bia...
Benchmark or McIntosh.... Holy crap those are big subwoofers you have and you have two of them. How did you make a decision to buy such huge monsters for this room? I have a subwoofer that's 12 inches in a comparable sized room and it is set at 20% volume and still very v...
Benchmark or McIntosh.... Why not go for biamping using the mac mc901 monos. They have the MC 611 monos and the mc 2301 monos combined. That’s the ideal world in my view.
Audio stand needed....Moving main components from mechanical room to listening room When you see magico offering a rack for $40,000 you really have to wonder what the hell is going on. All the isolation specs that you see, does anybody really really really notice a sonic difference. Yeah if you don't isolate the turntable its go...
Rear speakers duplicating main speaker sound from TV source? I would think you rear speakers would pick up some thing when you set receiver to surround mode even when getting a stereo signal. I have learned that a 5.1 Signal does come from the networks but it's hard to really understand how consistent this...
Audio stand needed....Moving main components from mechanical room to listening room @roxy54 @tyray i have adequate feet underneath my individual components on my rack. The casters underneath the rack are invaluable to an ever-changing landscape where I live. I have three listening rooms and another room entirely devoted to k...
Audio stand needed....Moving main components from mechanical room to listening room Salamander makes great stands that are very reasonably priced and you can get them with casters. Have to get casters on stands. Always been amazed how crazy people are to not use casters for amplifier stands. Amplifiers don't get impacted by ...
How important are spikes? I’m not debating the quantum level effects of what spikes do. Clearly you can measure anything to death and confuse an issue. I read the article referred to above and it’s another one of these articles that is incredibly confusing and difficult t...
How important are spikes? Clearly, based upon the thread above, aside from all the marketing rhetoric, spikes have limited value in an audio set up. Putting spikes underneath an amplifier is nuts and provides no discernible sonic change. Isolating a turntable makes sense...
How important are spikes? I buy lots of stuff and even after trying it I’m willing to concede that it’s not a good idea to buy some of the stuff. I use sliders underneath my bookshelf speakers and under Center channel amplifier feet, because it’s easier to move them around...
Audio Research Financial Troubles Servicing a tube amplifier is a nightmare. Just try to get a repair done in Manhattan. Of all places where you should be able to do anything. One tube repair center may be going out of business soon. Not because of business issues but because no o...
How important are spikes? I tend to agree that isolation pucks and spikes are generally worthless, except for turntables obviously. There is a good benefit to put in cushions under the feet of your subwoofers to avoid vibrating things in your room indirectly through the f...
