Borresen Loudspeakers Very typical marketing campaign. The highest end of the range speakers perform well for a few hundred thousand dollars and then the lower end is marketed heavily as eye Candy. The diameter of the base drivers is too small and already bass range a...
Gain and level controls on an amplifier-a good thing? @mulveling Amazing looking system you have and that alpine height turntable is really cool. I was thinking about Vac a while back. But incorporating it into the home theatre environment didn’t seem right. For biamping I am trying tubes and soli...
Borresen Loudspeakers So you need a gizmo to make the speakers sound respectable. Why would they be using gizmos when they showcasing speakers that's a big red flag
Borresen Loudspeakers So Jay is the key is the new marketer of this new speaker. The speakers are nice looking but I'm family to understand why they are so good. They are very thin the drivers are very small and they make up for this by adding a couple drivers. That's ...
Gain and level controls on an amplifier-a good thing? @goodlistening64 You have a lovely basement space and the point of egress with those double doors is very interesting I guess you don't have any water issues.
Gain and level controls on an amplifier-a good thing? @goodlistening64 Awesome comment. I guess in a biamp World, the amplifiers in use would greatly benefit from gain controls
Borresen Loudspeakers Bookshelf speakers are deficient in the base area. Most people I know who bought these things end up buying subwoofers. Also the drivers are too narrow, I’ve never why drivers keep getting smaller and smaller and smaller. Their marketing hype is t...

Ken Fritz article What was Ken's net worth any idea? I'm not sure what the hurry was to get rid of all the gear they should've taken more time. Can't believe some of his family members didn't want any of it? My grandfather collected certain items that were very r...
Mcintosh pre amp pricing Most people who buy Macintosh amplifiers and pre-amplifiers just keep them sitting on a shelf if they stop using them. It’s a royal pain in the ass to sell used gear and new gear even if you have the old box. If you give it to a dealer as a trade...

Why don't they record in ‘surround stereo’? @dean_palmer That's nice you can listen to stereo and surroundsound and it sounds good. I'm not a big fan of two channel through an AVR. Although maybe it's good for certain AVRs.
What affects front to back depth in room/ system? You need to listen to Diana Krall all the time if you wanna listen to things with sound depth . Most of the time I find it's the quality of recording that makes all the difference in the world despite whatever equipment you have
Why don't they record in ‘surround stereo’? @kr4 Thought everybody knew that |
