Can Jolida 502 drive Magnepan 1.6
I would get a minimum of 100wpc for the Maggies. 200 is even better.Lesser amps will sound great but only at very modest levels.
Help- why do my Definitive Tech BP7001's sound Bad
I agree, look at room acoustics first. The Denon is a very nice receiver. However, it won't "blow" you away. See if you can borrow a nice 2 channel amp somewhere and use the pre-amp outs on the Denon. Very easy way to see if you need to go to seper...
YOUR Favorite Bookshelf/Monitor below $500
If you can find them used, Soliloquy Sat-5's. Sealed cabinet so they work great in tight spaces. Same sound as the entire Soliloquy line, just less bass. Amazing sound with any sub.
Smallest Processor 7.1 H/T Only
Have you looked at the Arcam-its all in one and fairly compact
System setup
You really should have someone professional set it up if you don't have a clue. You will never use it if it doesn't work properly. To save some money, you may want to buy it used locally if that person will help you? You could buy just some of it o...
Sumo 9 and B&K EX442
From my experience, the Sumo is more like the older Thresholds, 400A, 800A and so on.The B&K is probably a little "lighter" and "faster" but not as warm. From what I know, I'd rather have to repair a B&K than a Sumo. When class A amps blow,...
Sumo 9 and B&K EX442
Sumo is Class A rated. Very warm and tube like. Definitely in the class of Threshold or Pass.
Subwoofer Placement
The sub may actually affect your picture???Someone told me once that the best/cheapest way to find where the sub should go is to place the sub around where you would like it, then move around the room with your head at about listening height and w...
High vs. Low Efficiency Speakers
Some speakers are grossly inefficient but sound amazing (like Maggies or some Thiels). Those are cases where even low volumes require a minimum of 10-50 watts just to "get them going". Personally, I'd want hundreds of watts with those two but, on ...
can you get 2 digital output on pc at the same tim
It should work. All signals should be going all of the time. You may have issues getting everything into the right formats. This doesn't sound terribly user friendly but won't hurt anything? Would it be easier to add a second sound card or even an...
Mcintosh 6900/Klipsh Cornwall III - a good match?
It's all a matter of preference? I hated my 225! My Pilot, Fisher and Scott tube pieces were much better sounding. My Mac Solid pre/receiver was bulletproof.

Will the USB work? Where can you run it into your amp? If the connections are there, try it? Make sure that you have outputs to inputs and vice versa.
For those who buy new releases on vinyl
I just bought a Test recording at Jerry's in Pittsburgh. It was 45 years old and still new in the wrapper! I buy lots of NOS from there...
Mcintosh 6900/Klipsh Cornwall III - a good match?
I'll put myself on the line here: Old mac solid state may be better than old mac tubes (except maybe 225).

Many will have a toslink and a coax digital output. Use the coax for stereo and toslink theater?
