Vinyl Storage Suggestions
Yeah, it was a good ten/fifteen yeas ago, but sorry to report I remember my Ikea shelving eventually getting wobbly and then collapsing under the weight of the LPs. Now I have teak shelving. So far, so good.
Pangea Ethernet cable.
The only stuff I've compared my Pangea Ethernet cable with was the yellow generic variety from Office Depot. Yes, everything is clearer and more focused with the Pangea, but it's certainly not a matter of night-and-day.
Sean Connery has passed away :-(
One of my favorite actors. No matter what role he was playing.
Your favorite 'concept' album
The two Jimmy Webb/Richard Harris LPs.  Ziggy Stardust.  Sgt. Pepper.
When was the first time that you heard great sounding speakers?
First off, I have to say I've always preferred tone quality and imaging over ear-bleed treble and kick-me-in-the-guts bass.  In any case, I've been gobsmacked several times during the decades of my audio-nut existence. AR-3's and then Tannoys in t...

Some website chat rooms are bland love fests, some are exercises in machismo, and some are genuinely engaged, wide ranging, thoughtful and lively. I enjoy them all. And oh yeah...  My ears are much better than any of yours!!!!
What's the best and/or favorite piece of equipment you've owned? And do you still own it?
As much as I love listening to audio, when it comes to physical possessions I'm 'way more emotionally attached to my musical instruments and to my record collection. That being said, I guess I got to say that my favorite component is my PrimaLuna ...
The "other" singers you enjoy.........?
tonykay -- Tim Buckley is one of my favorite artists. I gotta say, though, that the one time I saw him perform, at the Troubadour some years after his peak, he was absolutely awful. At least to my ears. Sure, it was okay that he might not want to ...
1st Album you Ever Owned?
acresverde -- Hey, I've got the Surfin' Bird single, too. I also remember '50's - Early '60's L.A. Deejay Lloyd Thaxton using a puppet to lip synch the tune on his daily local teen TV dance show. I have the Dominique '45, as well. I guess we're br...

What rock song sounds the best on your system...
mikelevigne -- you made me break out my First Week It Came Out LP copy of "Led Zeppelin." I first heard the record on a buddy’s parent’s JBL/Fisher stereo custom console. Another friend had brought it over.  I was so blown away by the sheer intens...

Almost every track from side two on from the Rhino Records two volume Roy Orbison Anthology LP set.
Do you use a Subwoofer when listening to stereo?
I'm an old school guy. I have a reasonably priced Paradigm 10" subwoofer parked to the left of my out-in-the-room NOLA Boxers, set up against the back wall but not too near the corner. I used my ears and a stereo test CD to match levels with the r...
Have you changed your mind about a brand? Was it you, or them?
I'm more a dark beer guy than a lager drinker, but Ma'a, a brewer based in my new home town of Hilo, brews an excellent enough lager to give my lager drinking a new lease on life.  It's good enough to stand comparison to the lagers I drank in Bava...
