How can you evaluate a system with highly processed music?
To be sure, if you're going to be scientific about it, it'd certainly be best to use recordings of acoustic instruments to judge a component or a system's fidelity. It'd be best for the buyer to have a familiarity with the sound of acoustic instru...

Wikipedia reports that the Johnny Horton version of Battle of New Orleans was the hit, thus the one that put it in our consciousness. I arrest my case.😎
Any Thoughts?
I love NOLA. I love my NOLA Boxer speakers, too. Double ka-blammie!

Sorry! I'm at a loss.

There ought to be a simple Grounding Wire emanating from either the tonearm or the turntable. Screw the wire onto/into the receiver or phono stage's grounding screw...which should be on the back panel. With any luck, silence will instantly prevail.
Why do almost all women today hate home audio?
I'd have to agree that, in almost all respects, this is a niche market. Few people care enough to truly devote to it. Let's just accept it and continue on our merry way.
The difference between Qoboz stream vs purchased songs
All I can tell you is that it is truly rare that I'm not satisfied with a Qobuz stream (and yeah, I just checked the spelling and it is indeed Qobuz). In any case, I do wish I truly knew how much or how little an artist gets when it comes to strea...

@gg107 Yeah, whenever I hear it I'm pretty much totally taken aback when Beethoven goes into a boogie-woogie in his Sonata No. 32. It's as if he's going a bit insane as he conjures up a variation and then forges onto the next. I first came across ...
Hidden Gems in Classic Rock Albums
I saw Warren Zevon perform but I just can't remember where. In L.A., of course. Aquarius Theater? McCabe's? The Troubadour? He was okay, but I'm sure even he'd agree that the artists who covered his tunes probably did them better.

Take the plunge. Journey further back in time. Try the Chopin Etudes with Maurizio Pollini. Or maybe some Franz Liszt played by Vladimir Ashkenazy or, again, Andre Watts. Liszt's Paganini Etudes are full-blown romantic insanity.
Whats on your turntable tonight?
LPs -- Brahms' Second Symphony, Bruno Walter and whatever it was orchestra (L.A.? NY Phil?) on an old Odyssey LP. Good sound. Heart and humanity to spare.  A side from my Swinging Sexy Sinatra box set. I've also been hitting my CD shelves, and bi...
