Klipsch Forte III and 2A3 tube amp cable advice
Any cable that uses silver or OCC copper should do the trick (the Harmonic Technology Magic ICs actually use both).
Make what's on your turntable tonight
My Great Aunt had a record making machine in the 40's. What's old is new again...

Turntable cost:benefit
800 LPs is not a "modest" collection. The question is: How often will you listen to vinyl? Don’t use the fallacious argument: "If I buy the new turntable, I’ll listen much more than I do now...". How often do you listen now? I have a VPI Classic I...

Center placed equipment stands
In my small (1500 sq ft) house, there is a large bedroom closet directly behind the living room wall where my system is parked. Two easily repairable holes and I could move everything (not the speakers) behind the wall. Oops! I forgot; all the equ...

Nice report! I was wondering if the clock makers turntable needs to be wound up?
B&W 802D3
Since you claim there are so many "trade ins", why not buy used and save 10k or so. If you don't like, just resell. I own 804D3s and think they are the "cat's pajamas"! I admit the bass doesn't shine unless you crank them up (6.5 inch woofs). Have...
Turntable
My dream, in "days of yore" (pre digital) was to obtain a reel-to-reel tape deck so I could copy new albums (before they got scratched) and not have to flip them to side-B...
Turntable
I've heard this said on AGon before: "If you don't have LOTS of vinyl to start with, don't get a turntable". Seriously, digital is so good now and it's only getting better. Myself? I just hate having to get up every twenty minutes to flip the reco...
How do you rationalize audio upgrades?
The argument many use is "can I buy this" instead of "should I buy this". I wasted baskets of money (that I could be using now in retirement). The system I have now is everything I wanted so I can't complain. The components I have didn't exist 30 ...
Each recording has one right volume level.
I've always said that it would be a simple matter for the record company to include a "calibration track". Using an app, you would play the CT (e.g. a 1000k test tone) and adjust your system volume to match what is specified on the album jacket. I...
Are you buying the right interconnects ?
If this is so critical, why don't speaker makers put this info on the back of their speakers? They just don't give-a-darn if you use the wrong cables and their speakers sound like crap?
