Ditching Lumin T2 - Lumin U1 Mini or Bluesound Node 2i
rockrider, yeah I think i'll play around with that for a while.  I think most people would be very "irked" to know their $$$$ streamer dac is being reprocessed and you're now hearing two dacs.  Also, I think Anthem recommends NOT doing this which ...
Ditching Lumin T2 - Lumin U1 Mini or Bluesound Node 2i
Thanks for the input.. I think i agree with you and all, but I can't get past spending Lumin T2 money, then having my Anthem just reconfigure the Lumin's great signal and sending it through it's process.  I'm thinking I should have saved money and...
Media cabinets like BDI but not as expensive
thanks rhljazz  -  very nice systems!I agree that trying to cheap out on this usually ends in disappointment and eventually forking out the $ for what I really want in the end anyway.  I was just wondering/hoping there was something I was missing....
Lumin T2 with Anthem STR preamp signal going through both DACs?
Thanks phastm3..  I really want the bass mangement, HT bypass, and ARC... So I'm really thinking Lumin's dac is almost useless now and I should probably just go back to the Bluesound Node 2i and use it just as a streamer.  Maybe the lumin u1 mini ...
Lumin T2 with Anthem STR preamp signal going through both DACs?
bwguy - I am not using usb.  I'm using balanced xlr from the lumin to the Anthem... Thereby, I am using the Lumin's dac, than the Anthem's dac when I want to use subs or ARC.
Lumin T2 with Anthem STR preamp signal going through both DACs?
By sending the analog signal out of the Lumin and then reprocessing it in the Anthem's dac, aren't I losing MQA since the Anthem doesn't support it?djones51 - Yes I currently don't use ARC but do use subs.  So I have to keep the Analog Convert 32/...
Lumin T2 with Anthem STR preamp signal going through both DACs?
Gotcha, that might be what I end up doing.  The lumin does have RCA outs and the SVS subs are controllable via app.  It just seems like I wasted money on the Lumin T2 when I'm actually hearing the Anthem's DAC.  Shoulda just went with the Lumin U1...
Best used integrated under $5k
marrduk24 if you don't want the Anthem's bells & whistles but still want a flat out incredible dac, look at the PS Audio Stellar Gain Cell separates. They're small for separates and I think would best any of these options sound wise.  At least...

djones51 ha.  Most of those other options are bare bones.  Not sure if any offer base management, especially for two subwoofers and none that I can tell have home theater bypass.  HT bypass was something I didn't think I'd use but I do now and LOV...

You're crazy not to consider the Anthem STR integrated.  Tons of features and flexibility including dual sub outs with bass management and Anthem Room Correction.Even if you don't want to use room correction, the fact they offer it is awesome, mak...
Lumin T2 dac gone bad? distortion "spitting" "splatty" in mids/highs
I have been talking to Peter on the Roon forum.  I never had DSP on but the thing that made the difference is setting the Analog Audio Output Level to "Low" which seems to have either fixed it or masks it, but i think it's fixed from my few mins o...
Let Roon upsample vs let Lumin T2 do the work
Looks like 192kb just plays higher with zero difference in the audible range.. I have no idea how to interpret that graph not being an engineer :)
Let Roon upsample vs let Lumin T2 do the work
Then how does one get real DSD?  Download each individual song from some online music service?
Let Roon upsample vs let Lumin T2 do the work
@tuberist thanks for the input.  Why use the computer/Roon instead of the lumin though? Also, why would one not like the DSD512 presentation?  Isn't that just higher quality or truer to the original?  Isn't it just a higher accuracy basically?
Let Roon upsample vs let Lumin T2 do the work
Yes it's a gaming computer with 16gb of ram and i7 processor.  It has plenty of power to do whatever, but does it do it the same as the Lumin?
