Conrad Johnson Premier 15/2 Phono Amp I agree with Speedy. If you really like the sound of the cj prem 15 and it works well with the SUT, don't bother changing. At this level the differences are personal
Graham Phantom Armwand Jloveys How can you tell the difference between the Ceramic & Titanium?? especially what you only have the one. Reason for my question is that Bob said he was making the series 2 for as little while before he officially changed to series 2. B...
New Ortophon Tonearms? Grimace I can't see why not. Overall the AS309-S is lighter than the Phantom I have. Phantom's are used all the time on SOTA's, so it should not be a problem. Not sure if adding a 30 gm SPU to the equation would not cause any issues thou, but agai...
New Ortophon Tonearms? Like Bhoage, I have the Phantom and AS-309S on my Raven AC-3 and heartily agree with his assessment. The AS-309s has a great relaxed feel to the way it plays music and is a great tracker. AS Vtvu said, the detachable headshell is great. I just got...
Audio Research Ref. 210 questions Chris I have tried to luv SS amps quite a few times but keep on gojng back to tubes. IMO a nice tube amp will always have over its SS counterpart - 3d soundstage where SS in comparison can sounewhat 2 dimensional and flat - tonal meat on instrumen...
Audio Research Ref. 210 questions I had a listen to the ref 210's for a few minutes and even at low volumes in a cold room the fans were churning away LOUDLY. I think the 210's sounded quite good, but I could not get my head around why the fans were so loud, especially since the a...
Popping sound on phono Graham Phantom2/SOTA TT One of the inmates here sirSpeedy had the exact same problem with the same arm/TT combo. You definately need a ground wire. Hopefully Speedy will respond.
Good mono cartridge for a very light tonearm Robyatt Are you not the importer of Miyajima cartridges into the US?? If so, should you not indicate that fact??
Cartridges - what have you owned and your opinion I should clarify re my XV-1. It has been sent back to Japan only twice - DOH!. I was thinking about 3 times to come back. First time it was well worn out with approx 3500 hours on it. 2nd time is now and I screwed something up when trying to put a...
best phono preamps? David Will be very interested in hearing the difference between the Alnic and TW Acustics phono stage. Are you getting the Alnic 1500??
best phono preamps? Raul says " At the other end of the IC cable ( line stage input ) the additional " stages/veils/distortions/noises/colorations " are the same number: 6+6=12 !!! plus one meter of IC cable with all the IC cable self signal degradations." This suits...

Mcintosh MC 402 2 ohm tap Definataly not. My Strads dip down to 2 ohms for most of the lower bass and some mids and I go back n forth between 2ohms and 4 ohms.
best phono preamps? Raul I think Jcarr has put you in your place. Your normal condecending attitude has gone your phono and everything you do being the absolute truth to being designed for your priorities. Enough said - BTW nothing wrong with that - that is what mus... |
