Ultimate challenge biggest bang speaker
I have Reimer Speaker System's Teton GS speakers paired with my Lamm gear. You get extremely coherent speakers which can go down to 16hz. These speakers are also very effecient (95db) which allows them to be used with lower powered tube amps. Reim...
Two Tonearm Turntable: Need Suggestions
The Galibier Quatro can be configured with two tonearms as well. I know that they have been working on a change in the motor contoller to allow for the 78 speed. I am not sure where they are with that but I am sure they can let you know.
Denver TT Shootout?
Spencer, I will be glad to post my feedback once I get the Schroeder arm. Unfortunately it will be another 3 months before it should arrive.
Denver TT Shootout?
I attended and there was alot of great vinyl being played. Although I am not aware of the TT shootout actually taking place there was plenty of opportunity to here both Teres and Galibier turntables although in different systems. In these environm...
Who will survive? One last table til I die.
You may want to check out Galibier's Quatro turntables. I have one of the earlier Redpoint versions and these turntables sound tremendous with build quality to last a lifetime. You can see at www.galibierdesign.com .
Optimal Loading for Shelter 501 mk2
I am pretty much with Dougdeacon on this as I have my Shelter 901 loaded at 36 ohms going into my Bent Audio step-up and Trumpet phono and it sounds best to me.
Reimer Wind River did not sell...
I am sorry Bartokfan, but you really do not know what you are talking about. You should try listening to the Reimers before you make assumptions and accusations of regarding their quality.
Reimer Wind River did not sell...

Reimer Wind River did not sell...
I have Reimer's Teton GS speakers which use the same drivers and ribbon tweeter as the Wind River except it is a larger speaker and utilizes 2 woofers. The sound of this speaker is incredibly life like. I replaced a pair of $10M name brand speaker...
Your ''best kept secret'' speaker choice ?
I also would like to recommend the Reimer speakers. I have the Teton GS full range speakers and they sound incredibly good and are a tremendous value.
Tube Preamps with Bass?
I have the Lamm LL2 and it has excellent bass that goes much deeper than the Hovland preamp it replaced. The images are very lifelike with this preamp.
Suspended Basis vs Nonsuspended Teres
I have a Vibraplane under my Redpoint TT and it does make an excellent base for an unsuspended TT. I do think though that other less expensive base materials such as granite slabs can do a very good job. As far as unsuspended tables in general the...
Has VPI quit supporting the HW series turntable ?
Just because they they decide to no longer manufacture the HW-19 series does not mean that they will no longer service them. I doubt very much that Harry Weisfeld would not want to service these turntables of which I imagine there are many thousan...
Shelter + BentAudio loading: field test
After going back and forth between 36ohm and 50ohm I have settled on the 50ohm setting for my Shelter 901, Bent Audio, Trumpet combination . In my system the 36ohm seems to take too much of the leading edge transients out. The 50ohm setting is mor...

Great post Doug and very timely. I too have the Shelter 901 and the Bent Audio transformers going into a 47ohm Trumpet phono. I currently have set to 100ohm and am now ready to start testing different resistors. I have made alot of changes to my s...
