tweaking audio systems with modifications.
Job first……it’ll be more meaningful then.
Interesting situation! Do we need this....
It’s all about what is pleasing to you, what you like. If it make you happy it’s a great system.  Congratulations!
Ultimate stereo nightmare
This is a time to take part the system, clean, and reassemble, preferably with id tags on your cables or some kind or organizing method. I’ll bet you have cables that aren’t being used. Curious to see what the person you hired will do. Good luck
Subwoofer boom is too much for me...
Use the level and crossover settings on the sub.
New streamer? N150 vs U2
@txp1 exactly! I did the same thing plus added fiber optic, and it sounds amazing! Why would I want to upgrade? Try spending another $100 to add fiber and you’ll answer your own question. Good luck!
Wilson to Tekton to ????
I feel the same way. As soon as I part with something, I wind up needing it. Curse of the audiophile gods😀
New MOFI speaker (Andrew Jones)
Read the review in Stereophile, I’m not that impressed by the review.  Seems to be targeted to the lower end of the market. It’s has a lot of limitations as you’d expect at that price point but still would be interesting to hear. My impressions.
Network Acoustics Eno Streaming System vs SGC Optical Isolation System
Adding fiber to my Ethernet connection produced the biggest impact of any tweek I’ve done to my system. Combine that with a linear power supply, and a wireworld starlight platinum Ethernet cable and it’s even gone to the next level. Btw, I’m using...
Are There Improvements that Can Be Easily and Quickly Made Without Buying More Stuff?
As a lot have said positioning speakers  will help. Also, take the system apart clean all the contacts, components etc and reassemble. A general housecleaning can sometimes do wonders. Good luck.
Looking for a McIntosh amp that gives a great example of the “McIntosh Sound”
MC 500. It’s my reference amp, a 114 lb 500 watt per channel beast but a beast wearing a tuxedo. Smooth, powerful, articulate, at any volume. I could go on and on. Vintage now, but worth it if you can get one! I’ll have mine forever, literally, it...
Totally Ridiculous....Auditions on YouTube!
It sounds ridiculous but it might give you some insight about whether you might want audition something in person. That’s probably the only way I think it might be useful. I certainly wouldn’t buy something or pass judgement based on that alone. O...
VTV D300 Digital amp
+1 @stereo5
After fifty years… amazing. What high end audio can be.
@ghdprentice My hat is of to you my friend. I’m 62 and I hope that I can achieve your level of satisfaction or bliss at 70. I’ve been at this since I was a young boy. I’m inspired!
Who says studio monitors are "cold and analytical"?
Never heard that one. “Near field” yes, but not “cold and analytical”. For instance, JBL l 100’s aka 4311 studio monitors (used to mix probably 99% of every 1970s rock album) could never be considered cold and analytical, or near field for that ma...
Four Hour Tube Amp Warm-Up
Maybe it’s your tubes. My tube amps, both vintage McIntosh, get with it pretty quick, like less than 20 min.
