Curious to know your streaming and dac set up and the best recommended streamer under $15k +1 @jimmy2615 the Lumin U1 is supposed to be an awesome unit if you have a DAC. It’s basically an S1 without a DAC. I’m wrestling with this decision right now. It’s is highly recommend by a friend of mine who who’d did some comparisons with others...
VPI upgrade? I’m a VPI lover, VPIs love upgrades. I own a scout II, upgraded the feet, motor, and added a walker speed controller. Also put a Koetsu rosewood signature on it. It will take anything you throw at it and return the favor. In my opinion you can’t g...
Buyer anxiety Wooooooooo…..red lights!
The problem with absorption panels- it kills the fine details I agree. In a recording or broadcast studio is one thing but in the home setting I think they suck the life out of the music. The same things apples to carpeting in the home. My opinion.
Qobuz hell First, why didn’t you like it? I’m trying to decide if I want to get into subscription streaming. Also, can’t you just cut off your credit card? I’m sorry that you’ve had a bad experience but those of us who are still deciding want to hear you’re ...
Network optimization for serious streamers @wvbossfan I agree 100% on the fiber recommendation. I’ve got fantastic results with that. Also if you look at some of the high end streamers like Lumin, they do fiber internally in the component. This is what reduces the network noise which gives...
Network optimization for serious streamers @sns I’m using a generic tx and rx fiber converter, (cheap from large online retailer) 15 ft of multi mode cable, and bluesound node with a linear power supply upgrade, wireword Ethernet cables on node end and from Qnap NAS and getting outstanding...
Network optimization for serious streamers Add fiber right before your source component!
Is there anything better than live recordings? I agree with how you posed your question. However, most live recordings are not as good as studio IMO, there are exceptions though. I have few live recordings and I’ll just leave it at that. The best I’ve heard as an example of studio “live” are D...
Under my tower speakers -- Isoacoustics Gaia, other options? I use isoacoustics on my very large Tannoy Churchill’s 145lbs each….on a tile floor and love them. They not only hold the speaker well but tighten the bass and help focus the sound. In my opinion you can’t go wrong with them price and performance ...
Sound of the DCS Bartok vs the DCS Rossini Player Thank you did you trade or still have it to sell?
Sound of the DCS Bartok vs the DCS Rossini Player @andyhifiman Im interested in this as well, so I hope you get some input. This link is old, so if you’ve come upon anything you can direct me to, please send me a link.
Using streaming as a main source ---DSD, FLAC, MQA Streamers and DACS I think this is an excellent thread for this subject. I agree with @ronboco about the bluesound node. This is good advice and if you add fiber to the mix with s good audiophile Ethernet cable you’re in for a good ride! Hard to beat in many respect...
Why so few devices with BNC's?? RCA connectors have been there since the beginning of audio time. They work for me, and as far as digital they work great also. They certainly are better than toslink with digital. I haven’t felt the need to make this an issue yet.
tweaking audio systems with modifications. Job first……it’ll be more meaningful then. |
