Making a list...
1. Ripped to NAS 2. SACD 3. XRCD 3. Redbook 4. streamed
What am I missing?
I’m happily acquiring cds either buying or “mining” at record store thrift shops etc.  I rip them to my nas and they sound great, better than playing the cd itself. I’m not sold on the sound quality or reliability of streaming yet. To me, as long ...
Music for 2022- Is It Just Me Or?..
I can’t get into the new stuff. I’m still mining record shops for old cds to rip to my nas and used lps. I’m so downloading much more that I ever have. There’s still lots of old gems just waiting to be explore….I stay excited about that and the hu...
Counter weights on your turntable...another dirty little secret?
Learning how to set up your turntable should be a requirement for all audiophiles , included in the audiophile 101 course😃 seriously it’s a skill that helps you to be more involved in this hobby. There’s som many resources on line that can help an...
Power conditioner vs use of a audio grade outlet?
Use both. Installing an upgraded outlet is cheap.
Flat Screen Television behind speakers
I must say I have never noticed a difference.
RIP Christine McVie
God rest her soul, a complete shock when I heard. She was truly my favorite, with the most beautiful voice! She will be sorely missed.
Streamer matching to system
Upgrade the node. A linear power supply, fiber, and Ethernet cables will set you back maybe $300 to 400 and you’ll get sonic improvement that you’d pay thousands for if your not careful. Good luck.
Combination streamer and music server…without DAC
I highly recommend the bluos node. You can upgrade the power supply and add fiber making a hard to beat budget streamer. Good luck in your search. Remember you can spend a lot of money with little return, be careful!
Amp pairing with Tannoy Turnberry?
I have Tannoy Churchill’s and use a McIntosh MC 500. MAC pairs well with Tannoy ss or tube. My two pennys…..
Is it worth to get 2 m Nodorst vs 1m
If you just base it on the length….1m is really short for a power cord, so there’s not much flexibility. I would go with a 2m just based on that. My 2 cents.
Only two tracks to test your system, forever!
I love this thread so I can get inspired to dig thru my music collection! Thank you to all.
I've been selling heavier gear for lighter gear
Use a floor dolly. That’s what I’ve done with my 114lb McIntosh amp. Works great.
Break In Failed
You don’t have to be neurotic about it, just put them in your system, fire them up, and listen. Before you know it you’ll be rewarded with great sound as they progressively get better and better. Enjoy the hobby!
Liquid Stylus Cleaners
I use Last or stylast, with no problems. If your concerned about liquid use onzow the sticky pad. I had no problems with either.
