Your jaw dropping cables My eye opener was switching speaker cables from Nordost Flatline II to the new Purist Audio Design Musaeus. I didn't believe the hype about cables... thought is was total BS. Convinced myself that some ICs were better sounding than others but neve...
Monster X-Terminator Source? Yeah, the sound problem is a problem and I've heard others mention it now. I will probably just go with the Audioquest even though they don't lock into place. Thanks for the help!
Most suitable tone arm for linn sondek LP12 ARO is best, at least in my listening. A unipivot and the LP12 are a fantastic match. It think it helps you get a little of the air back that other arm combinations can eat up. Moerch UP4 is also great but the armboard is a little expensive.
Record Surface Noise Question Thanks for the suggestion. Left while I'm looking at it from the front?
Top jazz trios piano, bass, drums on vinyl? Claude Williamson on Bethlehem is a great trio.
Top jazz trios piano, bass, drums on vinyl? I've got 6 or so Billy Taylor albums. They aren't that expensive usually. He's awesome. Never seen a box set though.
Who listens only to vinyl? I don't think I'm ignoring music of the last 10-20 years with my vinyl only setup. Pretty much anything that I check out on iTunes that I like is at some point available on vinyl, although I'm listening to Jazz and inde music mostly and some elect...
What amps use the KT120 tubes? I use them with a Rogue Atlas.
recommendations for quality line volume control Why not buy a Lightspeed Attenuator? This LDR volume control will also give you the benefit of a more airy presentation. It's a remarkable product. I use one in a vinyl only system.
Upgrade turntable from an Amazon Model 2 Thanks, sounds. I didn't even consider that... not sure why. Probably because I just love the unipivot sound. Brings great air to my Quad ESLs. But I know there are better arms. I should probably try a Schroder first since that's another arm Amazo...
Goertz Sounding a bit lean I am loving the PAD Museaus. Very balanced, top to bottom. Better bass than my old Kimber Hero and the same transparent sound as the ribbon cables that I've tried. Harder to run because they are fatter and less flexible, but I've made it work. The...
Lightspeed Attenuator - Best Preamp Ever? I kinda think it is the best volume control ever. I've tried full preamps from ARC, Rogue, Placette, some TVC, battery tube buffers with goldpoints and a few other oddities in a vinyl only system. Can't duplicate the blackness and the natural ease...
Goertz Sounding a bit lean Red Dawn was fine but also a bit thin so I've got two sets of Puritas Audio Museaus on the way to try out. People praise their balanced sound, so we'll see.
Quad ESL57s and Anti-Cables? Ok, thanks for the advice. I wish I could find a set of used Magnan Signature. They don't pop up very often.
JPS Superconductor Q Let me just say that I don't think that asking help will really be of much value. You really need to try them in your own system. For instance, I had the exact opposite experience with WBT HEROs. They were definitely on the dark side for me. When ... |
