Asr basis exclusive or naim superline+hicap2 It only get better! I leave mine in the Line position when I'm not playing it and switch to battery when I listen. Distributor agreed that keeping it powered up all the time is good but I hadn't really tested it until power went out at my house fo...
Joule Electra VZN 100 Need help You may want to try to post on the OTL asylum at audioasylum.com. Those guys seem to know a lot. Wonderful amps. Sorry you are having a problem.
anyone compared ASR emitter amp with Spectron ? I've heard them both, though not in the same system, and I feel comfortable saying they are not comparable in any way except music comes out of both of them. I'm pretty much resigned now that in this hobby for the most part you get what you pay fo...
Should I upgrade to a Manley Chinook phono pre-amp Buy the Chinook. The first quality tube phono stage I had changed my vinyl life. You get what you pay for in this regard.... and the Chinook is definitely worth the price. They are holding value really well too, so very little risk for you.
Asr basis exclusive or naim superline+hicap2 I think it depends on which ASR you get. If you grab an older 2006 model I think you are looking at the best of both worlds. I finally got to listen to the gold board vs my blue 2006 and I understand what the distributor means when he says it's mo...
Stand out phono stages Very Interesting Nandric. I'll be in Europe next year. I should look around and maybe bring an Emitter home. Thanks.
PAD Musaeus vs. Kimber Kable 8tc I just bought the Museaus for my Quad ESLS and it changed my system so much for the better over Nordost Flatline and Red Dawn. Cable Co. was great. Didn't feel the need to try the Venustas. You may want to give Purist a call because in your system...
Is a vinyl rig only worth it for oldies? I am equally split between old jazz and folk and newer electronic, gothic, and folk-psych. I'm very happy with the sound of both groups of music. I've had to work hard (and spend a lot of $$$) to get equipment good enough to play these different v...
Rogue Cronus an upgrade over the PrimaLuna PL1? OR a Jadis Orchestra, which isn't that easy to find either... but a wonderful int amp that will make you happy. Tonally exactly what you are looking for I think.
Trans Fi Salvation direct rim drive turntable Thanks, Spirit, for your reply. I wish there was a way for me to hear the TransFi in Southern California! By the way, I had way too much money in the Shindo so I've down graded to an Amazon/Moerch combo... belt drive but I'm VERY happy. And it tak...
How many with analog rigs only? Only LPs for 13 years now. I have an iPhone and sometimes in the car I'll listen to Pandora but that's the only digital I'll listen to. Because it sucks :)
Trans Fi Salvation direct rim drive turntable I really think that it just depends on what makes you happy. A perfectly setup fully updated LP12/Naim Aro is the best turntable I've ever heard but I could never keep it set up properly for long enough and my Linn guy passed away. The GP Monaco i...
Audio Desk Record Cleaner-Anyone buy one yet Thank you both. Incredibly helpful. I'll borrow my uncle's 4 point system fluids and try to fully experience what you both are saying. I have been adhering to Sytax's "throw it away" (or return for credit at Amoeba) plan for the last few years. I ...
Audio Desk Record Cleaner-Anyone buy one yet Doug, For your 20 mins of cleaning, what do you get? Can you be specific? I have a PRC3 and am using L'art du Son as a single step cleaner. I know cleaning is important but to be completely honest, I've never had an LP that was noisy suddenly beco...
a solid state amp that is recessed in the treble I would try the Rogue Atlas that Mark makes special for Quad owners. It's the best amp of about 15 that I've tried with ESL57 and I know it can run Maggies. I heard it with 1.7s and the combo sounded great. Call Mark at Rogue and discuss. He's rea... |
