Take a look at their "3rd Avenue Collection" in the Shop section of the web site.  These are the speakers that were developed post-acquisition, prior to their recent pivot into life-style and blue-tooth.  They are already referring to the 3rd Aven...
CleanerVinyl-Ultrasonic record cleaner
@pryso I spent some time with steam cleaning in combination with a VPI 16.5.  The improvement with a good US + 16.5 wet vacuum is significant.

@dmgrant1 It's an Elmasonic P60H.  It has several interesting features, including 37 and 80khz frequencies, de-gas, sweep, and pulse modes, and is quieter than the Chinese machines.

@slaw The potential issue is excessive heat, not force or pulsing action per se.  Keeping the LP in rotation and the bath temp below 45C addresses the heat issue. In addition, the Elma allows you to dial down the pulsing mechanism, if desired.

Slaw wrote:" I forgot to plug in my Vinyl Stack after turning my 40khz US cleaner on for a 30 minute cycle. I was worried but could hear no damage."I've also done this with a cheap Chinese US machine and experienced no damage.  But when I forgot t...

IME much is gained by following US cleaning with a vacuum rather than air dry. The US machine removes crud, but also leaves loosened debris on the LP for extraction by the vacuuming. I start with 20 minutes in the Elmasonic, and end with a TergiKl...
Aurender N100h vs. SOtM sms-200 Ultra
I have not heard them side by side, but am personally won over by the SOtM/MicroRendu construct of a client Ethernet-to-USB endpoint, networked via ethernet to a generic computer-grade NAS mass storage server. The SOtM/MicroRendu paradigm is a bui...
300 rpm motor for VPI
Check the run-out on the 300pm motor pulley.  The pulley that came with my 300 RPM upgrade wobbled.  VPI replaced it.
Charley Hansen (Ayre) Passed Away
I found Charlie's recent posts to AA that forcefully challenged the audio print magazines to straighten up, were fascinating and astonishingly impassioned and well-informed.  Those posts are epitaphs to a man who contributed as much and cared as d...
Technics EPA-100 MK2 wiring
@chakster Thanks for the URL to Audiogears Luxman tonearm bases.  I have been machining brass top plates for various tonearms, but not the underlying sled mechanisms.  Audiogears's pricing is reasonable relative to old stock units on ebay. For tho...
Technics EPA-100 MK2 wiring
@chaksterJim Howard of Applied Fidelity(RIP) once mentioned to me that rewiring the EPA-100 is worthwhile.  He also replaced the stock ruby ball bearings with silicon nitride balls-- which were claimed to be rounded to a tighter tolerance.  I own ...
Merlin speakers
+1 for Rich B. In conversation I have found him knowledgeable with every aspect of Bobby's speakers and a good source for spares and repairs.  What do you need for your Merlins?
Most Important, Unloved Cable...
@douglas_schroeder I haven’t been able to find much discussion for good or bad on high-end forums about IOP. The point is occasionally made that it can adversely affect certain components(a Burmester was mentioned). Others report or speculate that...
Most Important, Unloved Cable...
The only problem I have with Douglas's review is that his system passes Ethernet through household AC wiring.  I haven't attempted that method or studied the academics, but it could be the weak link that invalidates findings with boutique EN cable...
How long does it take to break in coupling caps?
You'll hear improvement out to 200+ hours with CMR, though by 100 hours you'll be in a position to judge them.DaveClarityCap OEM Sales
