Vinyl recordings - best methods
BTW, Tascam specs the DA-3000's internal oscillator at 1 ppm precision, as compared to .02ppm for the LiveClock.

An Antelope LiveClock is now 44.1kHz external word clock for the Tascam.  LiveClock is synchronized to the SRS 10mHz rubidium clock.  I haven't yet compared the SRS clock to LiveClock's internal oven controlled oscillator. Both ADC ad DAC sections...

It's also conceivable that the original distributor or retailer removed the serial numbers to veil resale to an unauthorized retailer or to a buyer located outside its geographic restriction.

@bondmanp Thanks for visiting on Sunday for the demo. I’m taking another step with the Tascam DA-3000 by ordering an external Antelope Liveclock. The Liveclock will provide a 44.1 word clock to the Tascam as appropriate for DSD128 recording. The A...

It’s a BX-300 that I bought in the late ’80s to make tapes for a custom Alpine and Boston Acoustics system that I put into a Lotus Turbo. It broke once in the mid 90s (the cassette deck that is; the Lotus broke many times) and was repaired and las...

It still uses SD cards.  I read those into a Windows 10 laptop that hosts Tascam Hi-Res editing software, and from there wirelessly to a NAS.

Norman, Part of my goal is to put it all into the NAS jukebox and to eventually downsize my vinyl footprint-- but only if digitally recorded vinyl equals hi-res PCM and DSD64 ripped SACDs. The modified Tascam does that.

I posted on this on another thread, but will repeat some of that and add a bit.Sevs, I have an old Nakamichi cassette deck. It doesn’t come close to touching a DSD128 recording. For DSD recording there are contenders at widely varying price points...
Help! 'escape' key combination for Tascam DA-3000
I had this problem once, and thereafter followed instruction in the manual to turn the unit off when inserting or removing a memory card.  I also upgraded to 2.0 software, which according to the manual resolves instability.
Converting LP to digital. Advice please...
As Lewm mentioned, I’m using a Tascam DA-3000 to record vinyl to DSD128. Performance of the stock unit is fine, and improves significantly after replacing bipolar regulators in the power supply with Belleson SPZ parts. Footers and power cords also...

@Jafant, I'm based in NJ and cover OEM and channel sales in North America.  ClarityCap is the trademarked brand for audio-grade capacitors manufactured and marketed by Industrial Capacitor of Wrexham(ICW), based in North Wales, UK.  ICW also makes...
Clarity Cap CMR Impressions
It’s been a long while since I personally went through a break-in cycle with MR, but I recall a leading OEM evaluator report that 200 hours was necessary to get to the end of it. With a more revealing cap like CMR, nuances during break-in may be m...
Clarity Cap CMR Impressions
Eric, I think Audio4pass has it right about CMR. The new CMR and CSA ranges are calmer, in the sense of underlying quiet background, and more natural and unforced timbre and coherence across the entire FR. It takes around 200 hours for break-in.On...
Absolute top tier DAC for standard res Redbook CD
Matt, Stillpoints are great and tactically flexible in a variety of settings. I use Ultra 5s as turntable and speaker footers and Ultra SSs under several components lodged in a custom steel rack.  But if you ever get around to a strategic rethink ...
Absolute top tier DAC for standard res Redbook CD
Matt, Curious what rack or platform, footers, and PCs you are using when comparing DACs. Are you holding those variables constant, or tweaking to find the best result for each application?  I have found that for some components these tweaks can ma...
