It is 5 AM, Do you Know where Mikey Fremer is?
I love to listen. Enough so that I had my cleaning woman trained to clean my records. I don't want to waste time doing it myself after coming home from a full day of work. I only buy must haves until I finish listening to what I purchased. MUST HA...
No deep bass or highs: VTF or VTA issue?
I would check resonant frequency of the arm. A high resonant frequency would make the highs less open & muddy the bass. One other note, is that the Subwoofer can affect the isolation of the turntable and then create resonances that would again...
Benz LP and SUT's...
No RegretsThe TW does not use a SUT at all. It is pure tube. I think it is a FET current source but not sure. From what I understand, there are 2 impedanxes. The coil impedance & load. You need to accomodate both. I also use a Souther SUT in a...
Why are people selling there Marantz pm-11s1's?
Look at the prices in Japan & that will explain the "deep" discounts on the huge markups.
Benz LP and SUT's...
It is a 40 ohm cartridge if I remember right. Most SUTs won't work as they are 5 ohm designs. Look at the Auditorium 23 or similar. I am working from memory. Of course the Audio Note is fine as it is adjustable.
Antiskating .... The last analog secret
Thomas,I have a different theory. Maybe the bearings on the tonearm are sticking and causing the Stylus to drag the arm w. excessive force. I would check the arm w. a cheap MM high compliance cartridge and look for the stylus deviation as Nsgarch ...
Titanium wand of Graham Phantom 2 for Phantom 1
How was the comparison in sound between the 2 armwands? What cartridge/s did you try?
Dyscoveries on Dyna, Denon, Supex, Technics,FR,Ik
Mine is too wide for the Breuer unless I change the pivot to stylus distance. I will tri it soon. I had it in the Phantom. Great bass & dynamics but no magic. Now finally well set in the SQ. Highs are magnificent. Mids too. Bass is a bit less ...
Pass XA 100.5 vs Lamm M1.2
I would get either the Pamm or the Lass amps.

Raul,What is your favorite arm for your Colibiri? Also, what version do you have? Am I remebering right? Got a Breuer which I currently love. Works wonderful w. the Titan I. More dynamic then the Schroder but missing a tiny bit of the magic. In th...
Mbl 101 extemes.
I bet Valin reviewed them. Wouldn't his room be too small to come to any meaningful conclusions?
Setup of Ortofon SPU Royal GM II in Ikeda 407
Shane, I would love a photo. Would clear things up. I am more concerned w. overhang for the Ikeda than anything else. All other arms can use regular null points but the Ikeda geometry defys it. Let me explain to you my problem in more detail, If t...
Setup of Ortofon SPU Royal GM II in Ikeda 407
Raul,Now that is what I need. That is ideal. Anything new like that?
Setup of Ortofon SPU Royal GM II in Ikeda 407
Shane,The arm is such a warped creation. It starts straight, then bends away from the center axis and then back in. Overhand is specified at 12 mm. So Now trying to add 4 arms I had to move everything around. It aint easy. But basically to establi...
Would Like To Hear From Strain Gauge Owners
Stringreen,I always use the cup of tea expression. Glass of Orange Juice is a new one. IMO, a cartridge is more like tea and less like orange juice. Come to think of it, maybe a glass of Scotch or for the Irish Whiskey.
