Dual purpose amp
I don’t understand why you’d want to connect an AVR to an amplifier. What are you trying to do? Some people don’t know the difference between an AVR and an AVP, some just use the terms invariably, like I use to 😀 @cleeds He would connect a...
Experience with adding super tweeter?
When I started a thread on this topic, I got posts telling me that it is not possible for me to hear high frequencies and it's just impossible for the supertweeter to make a sonic difference. Ignore the naysayers if they chime in. There are man...
recommend PRAT Integrated amplifiers (not Naim)
PRAT is heavily influenced by speakers, dacs, the recording themselves, etc. Perceptively, I'm not sure how anyone's able to boil it down to an amp in a listening test. On the same note, the Yamaha A-S3200 is a great amp, going back 15 yeas now a...
Advice wanted for small factor office speakers
Drop the Pyle barrel bottom crap and go with Yamaha's multizone eco system. Even non-audiophiles have ears....they can quickly tell the difference between a "Pyle" of junk and good ol' Yamaha.
Here's to the temperate, the gentle, the moderates in audio
Scandinavian reviewer..."Stjernholm reviews"...best reviewer on YT (entertaining as heck).
Comparing Legacy Focus snd PS Audio FR20
Legacy Audio has a longer history of designing speakers. PS Audio is fairly new to it.  The Legacy Aeris, as @audiotroy indicated, seems like it has the recipe for a good thing going, i.e., to marry it better to a room, etc.
Borresen Loudspeakers
I believe that todays high-end speakers are grossly overpriced in general and especially Borresen's upper tier speakers.  Although I do believe that Borresen's entry level line of speakers do represent great value for the money.  Borresen does ma...
Kids, Dogs, and Speakers
I should have thought of this before, but the Wilson WAMM Chronosonic would be very stable. While tall, they weigh 900 pounds each. Oh, they are a little more expensive. 😊 Sure, granpa always had 350k to spare in his old age and the physical ab...
Active vs passive crossover
@erik_squires @phusis , there needs to be no additional adc/dac conversion if one chooses his front end gear wisely, i.e., keep it digital --> high quality dac+dsp+crossovers processor all in one device. A couple of minidsp devices come close...
Using PA Speakers In A Home "Audiophile" Application!
As an individual interested in audio equipment and the sound produced, I ended up with ESL Speakers., for myself these speakers types have ticked many boxes. ESL Speakers are as a result of my 20+ Years of using them not able to create the recol...
Using PA Speakers In A Home "Audiophile" Application!
@arnold_h , Tekton has all kinds of speakers, way too many for a small company, if you ask me...hard to say if Eric Alexander's eccentricity has any patterns associated with it,  😉
NSMT = OMG!!
Not too sure what to think regarding nsmt Clairvoyant System two, I must admit I was expecting more I guess. When comparing with my little Kharma CRM 3.2fe that were conveniently available to use as a reference they immediately showed every short...
Kids, Dogs, and Speakers
Perlisten in-wall speakers... Pros: - They sound better than some names suggested (for an in-wall speaker). - Completely out of the way/ more room for dogs and kids to run around. - Higher WAF   Cons: - in-wall installation required. If you...
Volti does it again!
When I look at these speakers, I see Klipsch redux. I’m not trying to be critical. If anyone can explain how or why these are made differently or sound different from speakers in the Klipsch line, I’m all ears. Because used Klipsch speakers ar...
