Car streaming blues, ain’t marketing great Harmon Kardon has been making car stereo since at least the early 80's (I use to sell it). It's not top of the line, but usually quite decent. I agree with reubet and M669326 as your first options, if that doesn't work out, I'd suggest upgrading t...
Harbeth again…or other speakers for acoustic music? @philsons I did add a sub to my 30.2’s, I never felt I was missing much before I got it, but of course the sub did fill out the sound. I got the 10 inch JLAudio sub, plenty for me. Someone mentioned Totems, very different sounding then the Harb...
What Is So Special About Harbeth? I love my Harbeth’s, but would not recommend them for hard rock, they are in my opinion, not ‘fast’, they do not “rock”, by which I mean AC/DC sounds polite. Amazing for vocal, acoustic, classical, blues, jazz, but if Pantera or Ghost is your cup ...
Avoiding Scammers - Both As Buyer & Seller I take pictures of every part of the item and I also take pictures of me packing it into the box. It also gets weighed (can't claim an old shoe if it weighs 40 pounds.) Check how long and how many buys/sells they have made, and their rating. Scam...
Eva Cassiday Blew Me Away with her cover of Wayfaring Stranger.... I honestly didn’t know she was dead. Damn. Now I gotta listen to some Eva to cheer me up, but then it’ll just make me sad again that she is gone. As an aside, I worked at a huge record store back East in the 1980’s and a kid around 14 came up to ...
Speaker Recommendations for Vintage Technics SU7300 For a vintage amp I’d get speakers to match, the new version JBL’s or the new KLH. Depends on his budget of course and what type of music he likes. The Klispsch are also a nice match for that amp and will get loud with 40 watts, if he likes to roc...
Bose 10.2's I sold Bose speakers in the 80’s and 90’s. Get anything else. Please. Especially in todays world, there is so much better out there. Their noise cancelation stuff is excellent. If you like the direct-reflecting idea, yeah, Ohm is a better choice.
Pioneer SL-570D TT Tonearm Suggestions @veemike Stripper GF.......and all the boys there at the bar began to sing along. If you'll be my Dixie Chicken, I'll be your Tennessee Lamb....... There's a song for every situation. As for the turntable, don't mess with it. Probably the same ...
Upgrade Bluesound DAC or go to Aurrender? OP here, so this is what happened... I had the Bluesound Vault 2, it got me introduced into streaming and getting my CD’s ripped. It sounded great, was easy to set up and use and cost-effective way to get into streaming. I then upgraded to a exte...
CD Transport or media server/streamer I had the same issue 2 years ago, buy a new CD player or go into server/streamer. My dealer talked me into the server/stream Bluesound Vault 2 and I have never looked back. I burned all my CD's into the Bluesound and can't for the life of me find ...
Preowned Wilson Audio Chicago Dealer I had a different dealer try and talk me out of Harbeth 30.2's saying the 30.1 were just as good. Of course, he didn't have any 30.2's but happened to have two used pairs of 30.1s in stock. Interesting. Also, I used to work at a mid-fi audio stor...

To extend Ethernet to remote location, are Powerline extenders or Mesh systems better? Mesh or powerline. My wiring is pretty new and being on the same circuit as the router, the powerline worked the best for me. I found the powerline much easier to set up then the mesh I had. Extenders for me were always a headache. TP Link is what...
Harbeth again…or other speakers for acoustic music? I own the Harbeth 30.2 and 90% of my listening is vocal and acoustic, rarely at high volume, which are two reasons I picked the 30.2's. When I listened to speakers, I also didn't like the 7's as much and wanted something with more bass then the 3'...
Why not use a piece of silver wire instead of a jumper cable? @onhwy61 Because there's no profit in it? By the way, love your nick @onhwy61 |
