First CD player help! The last CD player I had was a Rotel, it sounded very natural and blew away several higher priced ones. A used or new would be in your ballpark based on the rest of your equipment. I'd personally avoid the changers, more to go wrong and doesn't ag...
2022 Grammy Award Show? It was an enjoyable show. I agree with @gpgr4blu overall. Billie and Jon are true talents.
Digital separates or all in one music hub @ghdprentice - I second your comments about Bluesound and Aurender. I also would keep the DAC separate so you can upgrade in the future (you can use an outboard DAC on the Bluesound (later if you want) and Aurender has it both ways).
Neutral, transparent, warm So, I find Harbeth to be slightly warm yet very natural/transparent. However I do not find it "Fast". I had Totem and KEF speakers and listened to many B&W's and found them to sound 'Fast" - but can I describe 'Fast" for you? Perhaps Lively is...
Best double studio vinyl? @dekay - SPOT ON! For me it's the Allman Brothers double albums, second place is the Dead's triple Europe '72 album. The other choices here are not bad either...
System bottleneck? If you listen to mostly records, then the turntable/cartridge is the first thing to do. I say that since I have the Rega 6 with their MC cartridge and would consider it very good, but it's "low" High-end. I listen to albums a only few times a week...
Pass Labs INT-25 or equivalent in another brand I have the Luxman 590axII which is 30 watts pure class A, 45 into 4 ohms. Some reviews state after that it’s class B to 90. Great sounding.
I miss my Loudness Button and Tone Controls.... Can’t give you help on adding a Schitt, but I have heard good things about them. I went with a Luxman integrated (590AXII) and love it. Has tone and loudness that can be bypassed, I know that some people say tone/loudness isn’t pure, but I’m into ...

CD player Just another option, I had over 1,000 CDs and used a Bluesound to burn them into digital files and used it to “stream” my CD library. I would never go back to playing CDs, so I agree with ghdpentice for the most part. Using the Bluesound software...
Mcintosh MC462 versus Luxman M10X I cannot respond specifically switching from a Mcintosh cd to a Luxman cd, however I owned a Mcintosh pre amp and power amp for many years. I switched to a Luxman 590AXII integrated and have never looked back. It was a huge improvement. That said,...
For all you Bose 901 Haters! Back in the 70's we hung FOUR 901's from the ceiling of our 12x10 foot dorm room driven by a Sansui 9090. Not only did the ceiling drip colors (although that might have been for another reason) but the plaster on the walls flaked off and we couldn...
2nd system thoughts on vintage receivers For Looks go with Marantz, for sound go with a Rotel, NAD, Mcintosh or Luxman. Although Mc and Luxman look great also in my opinion. I agree with @fuzztone on a receiver though, get an integrated and add a cheap streamer. I would not go with the N...
Whats on your turntable tonight? @reubent Last Chance Texaco - sooo good, well, the whole album is good
King Crimson Wow, I would love to hear Court of the Crimson for the first time again. Enjoy! @twoleftears Yeah, for instance, I never really liked McCarthy after he left his first backup band and started Wings. I think the first band called themselves The B... |
