Ditching Class A Amps due to Heat - Sort of a Poll
I own a Luxman 590AXII class A and would have a hard time going back to Class D, although I have owned Class D and G before and I liked them very much. I'd go with Tubes, but don't want the hassle and then I'd get into tube rolling and that expens...
The Right Speaker Cables
+1 @antialiased  Love my Ohno, Studio One or 24SE when I can fine a nice used pair.
Combination streamer and music server…without DAC
+1 @oddiofyl  Basically I did the same, I was happy with the Bluesound Vault 2 until I could step up to use an outboard DAC with it and then up to the Aurender N200. The other suggestions are good also, but you need to compare what functionality ...
Hi-end audio is a big zero
It's not just about the equipment, just listen to music and enjoy it. I enjoy music whether it's on $30 airpods off my phone or on my system or on a friends $100,000 system. What you mentioned is just noise. Focus on the music, your ears will tell...
Built-in vs. Standalone DACs
For me it was the flexibility of upgrading the DAC in the future. I brought a very highly rated DAC that back 5-6 years ago was considered state of the art in DAC's, it's probably a middle of the road one now. Some of the technologies they are usi...
Only two tracks to test your system, forever!
Babylon Sisters - Steely Dan Fire and Rain - James Taylor And a Female Singer, Amber Rubarth, Aimee Mann, Lindi Ortega, Brandi Carlile I use the first two when I want to impress someone (older)  who doesn't understand what really good audio sou...
Why are there so many wooden box speakers out there?
Cabasse also makes square/rectangular speakers. They may also have some patents on them so other companies cannot make similar ones. And of course the way they sound might not be to every one's liking, regardless of research, science or technology...
Power conditions for Integrated Amps
Thanks Everyone! Lots of helpful opinions and options. Now I have to get off my butt and try a few....
I've been selling heavier gear for lighter gear
I am 65 and workout, but I brought a JL Audio F110 Sub (75 pounds and bulky, I wanted the F112, but my room was too small). I almost didn't get it up a small flight of stairs, if I had gotten F112 I would had have to hire someone to bring it in th...
Why are there so many used B&W speakers for sale.
+1 @petg60
Digital is far better than vinyl
I agree with the price you have to spend to meet or top a good digital setup. Expecting a $299 table to beat the OPs digital setup is not realistic. That’s a very decent digital setup he has.
Questions to Klipsch Heresy IV owners
@simna I agree with you. Also you can try a Class A amp rather then tubes, a good substitution if the price of a higher watt tube amp is not practical. I’d still go for the tube and Heresy if it’s practical for you. Similar to you, I heard Harbeth...
A heartfelt thank you to AudiogoN and members....
Agreed, the moderators are really good culling out the politics or non-audio rants that pop up.
Questions to Klipsch Heresy IV owners
What speakers do you have now? It might not be the speakers, but the issue of "Loudness" - your ears are less sensitive to low and high frequencies, so listening at low volumes with most speakers can sound a bit lifeless. Although I do not have Kl...
Has new music gone down the tubes?
I need Koolaid!!!
