Improvement over 2002 Denon AVR-3802 for 2 Channel Music System Wow, you sound like me about 3 years ago. I had a highly rated Denon AVR which I switched from using as surround-sound, which sounded fine, to use as a two channel. It was awful. I had several very good two channel systems in the past, and the Den...
Tia Blake And Her Folk Group - Reissue Thanks for the info on Tia. Listening to her now.
Subwoofer boom is too much for me... +1 @baylinor I switched from ported (for literally 25 years) to sealed and am much happier with the sound.
Those singers you enjoy,....that don't really have a great voice? +1 @bigtwin I wish however that I could sing even half as bad as any of the people mentioned....
Why is it that every time, lately, that I'm interested in a thread... There is also the one that goes: "In my experience with brand X, it is a very good amp/speaker/cartridge, but might be a better match with Y then Z." "What? You're an idiot! You're dumb, stupid and ignorant. X sounds great with everything! X is...
Need some advice on replacing a B&W tweeter Future sounds is one of the few great audio stores around San Francisco. Not pushy, friendly and helpful.
Want to add vinyl to my system. If you don’t own any records yet, I’d say the Rega 6-8 are great to start with, you may or may not find you want to get into records, and this level would be a good place to start, or end, without too much invested. If you have a large collection...
Cable advice I also have at least 4 different brands and different quality, although all at least mid-level (at least in my opinion they are mid-level!) The only time I’ve heard they should be the same is from a dealer wanting me to spend thousands to upgrade ...
Did you ever buy too much bass? I really wanted a sub that went down to 20hrz, but was told by my audio guy my room was too small, others on this site agreed. I went with a JL audio 110 with DSP and it sounds as if all the bass is coming from my speakers, it’s like I don’t even ...
Should I upgrade my Advent 5002 speakers? Mr. Bourne is correct. I’d add that anything you buy is going to sound very different then the Advents, which were very good speakers, but age has definitely change their sound over the years and you’ve adjusted to them. I’m betting you’ll find mo...
What are your top three favorite classical compositions? @tablejockey I like how on the album cover it seems to very casually mention “…and symphony No. 8….” in small type, like it was just a throw-away done by Beethoven. 🤣
When CDs first came onto the market in 1982 ....... For me it was no clicks, pops or overall record noise from worn records. Sold 90% of my records. Still sad about that. @ghdprentice - I loved my Nak tape deck and when they came out with a CD player I grabbed whatever cash I had and drove to the ...
Speeding sound track Highway to Hell. And almost any ZZ Top song.
I have NOVA V's and I am not happy An opinion….you should not use wires as tone controls. I agree with @yyzsantabarbara , I would suggest changing speakers, once you determine working on the room or sitting/speaker positions don’t help enough. @audphile1 suggestion on the Luxman/p...
Who says studio monitors are "cold and analytical"? I own the Harbeth 30.2 and they are certainly not cold, I find them to be very neutral, clean and clear. I listen for hours on end with no fatigue. I play guitar and piano (poorly I admit) and find the 30.2’s to be very accurate. Vocals sound like... |
