What is the Best Sounding Stand Mount Speaker in the world?
@jeffseight  Good question. The Electa Amator 3's are a very nice speaker, certainly a lot more attainable and more modern looking. Having listened to them extensively, I think they would be a good choice IF one could not source the GH's, which is...
What is the Best Sounding Stand Mount Speaker in the world?
A little biased, but I have never heard a better stand mount than the Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage.
Need recommendation similar to my Black Cat Cables
Looking at the Black Cat web site, there is now a banner that has been posted that states that there is apparently a group, to include members of Chris's family, that are trying to take over the production of his cables. This is great news and I h...
Need recommendation similar to my Black Cat Cables
IF you can get a longer run from Black Cat ( maybe from whomever is taking over for Chris) that would be the #1 choice. Failing that, I think the cables from Dave Cahoon..Zenwave, are truly up there with Chris’s designs. Look here: zenwaveaudio.c...
Franco Serbin Accordos after one month.....
Back to the regularly scheduled program   Indeed the Serblin speakers seem to be overlooked here in the US. I think possibly because of their aesthetic? Not sure why else? IMHO, Franco's best works were the GH's, the Strads and the Ktema's. Eac...
Jadis JA80 MKII, it Is a Legend!
@samhvcc   Where did you see that the JA30Mk2's will be equipped with KT170's? I would think those tubes would have a hard time fitting the available space on the chassis.
MoFi controversy
@larsman  +1 You are correct, the anger at Mo-Lie is due to the 'bait and switch' tactics that were used to lure the a'phile community into paying more $$ for the 'One Steps' ;wherein all the while withholding a specific step that Mo-Lie knew wou...
Chris Sommovigo has passed away
I am shocked!! I had spoken to Chris on a number of occasions, great guy!!!   RIP Chris.
MoFi controversy
@rauliruegas Raul, you are using Jim Davis’ justification for using a DSD step in his ’supposedly’ all analog releases. Davis stated that he and MoFI thought that the DSD recording sounded better than the AAA tape. I have a hard time believing th...
MoFi controversy
Tonight I decided to do a shoot out between my MoFi ’Anadisc’ Muddy Waters ’Folk Singer’ and the newly released ’One Step’ of the same title.I had done a similar ’AB’ when I first acquired the ’One Step’ and in some ways i felt it to better the ’A...
Linn LP 12
@malbor If you are upgrading the LP12, the place to do it is from the inside out...which is the Linn Protocol. Therefore, the bearing would be the first place to put money. Having said that, your question is still valid in your OP, as the tonearm...

Thoughts on the Linn LP12 turntable
@no_regrets As can be seen in this thread, member mijostyn has some very absolute thoughts about the Linn LP12. The ONLY thing that I think we can take away from all of his posts that are in fact 'Absolute' is the fact that he has a) never heard a...
MoFi controversy
Looks like the ’One Step’ Evans SATVV is an AAA recording, one of the very few! If so, I would think that this would increase its value, certainly to a higher point than ’Abraxas’, which is determined to be from a DSD source!
MoFi controversy
Tonight I brought out my copy of ’Monk’s Dream’ on the ’One Step’. I wanted to hear how the sound of the piano came through, as this instrument has always sounded a little off when sourced from a digital file, at least to my ears. The SQ of the pi...
