Thinking about buying an Lp12, Lingo table. +1 on what Varyat posted.Don't be too concerned about footfalls and going out of tune....all of the posters who state that really IMHO don't know how to utilize or set-up an LP12. The model you are considering has the Tramp upgrade, that means you...
New Ikea storage unit great for LP's! I just bought a Kallax shelving unit, it has the ability ( which I added) of having caster feet if utilized horizontally, and therefore can roll. It looked to me as if the Eket shelving was far less beefy than the Kallax. For a little money, this ...
Avid Diva II SP or keep my Linn I added a Tramp 2 last year. It was a nice upgrade and certainly helped minimize the impact of the stand i was utilizing--- a VERY heavy Sound Anchor.I would recommend the Tramp 2 to any LP12 owner.
Avid Diva II SP or keep my Linn Alternatively, add a Linn Tramp 2 to the table...this helps greatly with minimizing the effect on the table from what it is sitting on. Generally a nice uptick in SQ from this mod.
Last stylus preservative...anyone still use it? mr_m, this is such an odd situation......not that we are not believing you, but so many of us have used Stylast for years/decades and had no such problem. Yet, there are similar reports such as yours all over the web??Personally, I now use Onzow f...
Last stylus preservative...anyone still use it? testpilot, I’m talking about the Stylast..or the Lyra SPT; not about the Last stylus cleaner ( although I use this too). The cleaner is pretty good, but IMHO the Onzow is better.
8K for a one-time listen? The consumers who can afford the Devialet lacquers are those folks who are making $8,000- a minute, not so sure about the rest???
Amps from the 1980's -- What gear holds up sonically? Reliably? lowtubes--"In responds to Daveyf remark, "vote for cream of the crop," there is no way the AR components you mentioned would take that spot. There were way too many great sounding items. And I haven’t checked but I’m assuming that the AR amp you m...
Amps from the 1980's -- What gear holds up sonically? Reliably? Here's a vote for the amp that I believe is the cream of the crop from the 80's...the ARC D70Mk2. This amp along with the more powerful ( but slightly less resolving..particularly in the crucial midband) D115 and the great M100's exemplify for me ...
Koetsu cartridges - what arms work? jsl57, that's an interesting response. Actually, I can easily believe it to be true! The Ekos is an arm that I think does well with slightly heavier cartridges and I think tends to be quite able in the bass, which would seem to jive well with Koet...

NILS LOFGREN - ACOUSTIC LIVE ever make Vinyl I listened to this album tonight. First off I have to say that I think Nils musicianship is great...no question. I also think this album is a KILLER recording....but with a couple of flaws/warts. Firstly, and as is usually the case, the piano is r...
NILS LOFGREN - ACOUSTIC LIVE ever make Vinyl Just bought this LP, looking forward to hearing it.Couple of points to note... One is the fact that the vinyl is sourced from a digital source, and a 44.1 if I'm not mistaken. Second, and this is from my perspective as an axe player, Nils is using...
Is your cartridge toast...maybe yes, maybe no?? Hate to be contrary here, but I think just taking track of hours used is no indicator of wear at all...none! Some cartridges can be damaged or worn with very few hours on the clock...depending on how clean the LP is and what shape the stylus is to...
My Audio Research experience This thread truly amuses me. When one gets into high end audio and starts to delve in the esoterica of tubes...and tube amps in particular, then I do believe that some of the ’issues’ with said tubes are to be expected. My ARC amp is over 30+ year... |
